That said, it' a lot less boring to live and die guns blazing than to last through an interminable slow-motion porc contest.
this happens to me so much.
I can't help noticing

that most of the replies are arm-centric.
I am a member of the Core Alliance (or whatever.)
I won't be using sharpshooters (hence the complaint), but yes. Brawlers ==rapiers etc.
hm, well it looks like I need to start going air more than I currently do (not at all) or using vehicles more than I currently do (not at all, except on green fields).

Snipers are very useful, why wouldn't you use them?
It helps if your allies are actually working/playing with you, instead of playing their own game. Usually one person on your team goes planes especially on that map (to grab metal), just ask them to help you.

In case it hasn't been mentioned yet snipers accidentally do not use energy to fire in Balanced Annihilation 4.5.

snipers are rather unwieldly - it seems like if i don't have them on hold fire, they will shoot whatever is by them even if you have them commanded to attack something. also, when you attack something, they will walk straight towards it, even if it is in their range and they have a clear line of sight.
not that they need to be any more powerful, but they are pretty annoying to micro.

Another way to counter snipers, not mentioned once in this thread:
Motion detectors.
(or seismic sensors, or whatever the game code calls them.) You know, those Intrusion Countermeasure Systems in AA/BA(?). Nemesis (for both sides). Look kinda like
one of these, if you have 'em you see these little bullseye flashes appear whenever an enemy moves within its range. Nifty little buggers.
