My Internet Explorer uses Sun JRE to run java applets and has done on several computers after installing the Sun JRE. According to windows update the microsoft Java VM was deprecated and had a downlaod link to Suns JRE.

The nearest thing to a microsoft java runtime anyone should be running atm is J# .Net 2.0, or they should be using the latest Sun Java runtime, anything else is insecure and outdated.

:?:

IE6 uses it's own virtual machine which is about the only thing I like about it, despite the security holes in it.

I'm fine with FF for the moment. The websites which make use of applets have gone down to a minimum anyway.
