How about an unit with mirrors or something to function as anti-laser?

I think some CvC units have full reflectivity surfaces but it really doesn't look that much more interesting.

pheldens is trying to teach us english it seems O_o.

That will be funny idea.

The factory which works as energy building resourse center, but when enemy is close it turns its mirror and focuses energy on enemy.

Funny - dual usage - nice idea structure.

Sorry for my english.

I mean satellite on the surface area, adjacent buildings.

Really Cool would be a PowerPlant that plants(GAIA) Trees and then harvest them- that way you could use Treefields for Short-Time-Basedefense

see how the mirrors superheat the towertip.

Everyone else: As verified by IP pheldens is not emmanuel, he's not even french, your paranoia is not appreciated, your lack of respect for new community members is frankly disgusting.

anyway back on topic...

Energy buildings in Spring that are landbased really only have two forms of power generation:

1. set amount as defined by the FBI tags. An example is current solars or fusions.

2. Using the random generation methods that the wind values provide atm.

So really if u were to make something like this it would be a variation on one of those two choices.

model and script wise this would be a complicated idea. Also is just me or does there need to be more definitive description/names on these forums?

Hmm, I got an idea for this unit..

Like a laser tesla coil..

Without the tesla

(liquid) salt in the central receptor isn't it? the temperature differential between the hot molten salt and cooler molten salt drives something similar to a stirling engine, as i remember. in theory they're pretty efficient, about as a efficient as a heat engine can be.

edit: and as for weapons ideas... perhaps if argh puts some good ol' fashioned wooden ships into project 2 then we can have a galileo (?) style mirrors system for setting fire to ships using composite parabolic mirrors :)

<**suggests every goes out , rips their sky dish off the side of their house, coats it in tinfoil and holds a newspaper about a metre in front of it in full sun>

** if you die getting the dish down or give yourself third degree burns with your new burninator don't come crying to me

I think it was oil -> water -> steam turbine

if anything, this unit would be visually pleasing.

They tested it once and not very accurately. Who knows how it behaved back then? Maybe they had a huge mechanical assembly or maybe they had thousands of soldiers holding those mirrors.

twice, buddy... thats the retest that i gave you

in the retest, people were challenged to get it to work... and some people from MIT almost got it, it just burned it too slowly to be a feasable weapon
