Different victory options would be nice, king of the hill, capture the flag, etc etc. Perfect for a people wanting a little variation in their annihilation.

I remember Jouninkomiko (or whatever his name is :?) saying it would be quite impossible to join games after launch. It might not sound that difficult, but think about it: the deformed terrain should be downloaded every time somebody joins the game, which could cause severe lag.
It's a really nice idea though, but I don't think it's feasable.

It was I who said that originally after SJ PM'd me about it.

And also there is actually another game released that does all that, other than battle zone 2, that used it as its major selling point. I cant remember the name though but I have a review of it somewhere.

Well, I think you can join games post launch in Ground Control MP, but I don't think you can compare it to spring (much bigger scale, deformable terrain,...).

3 player can play in a team in StarCraft....please check when you said ("It il be the first" "or "no one other.."
I remember a pub of army of exigo wich said "the first RTS where you can battle on multiple front : on the ground and unredgrund" . Grrr

And for joining a game when it has already started. Jonimiuko said that it was impossible. (imagine download a diff file of the deformed map...it could be several mo)

Actually you could turn deformable terrain off and then enable people joining midway, SJ said the network protocol used in spring wouldnt support it and would require a rewrite to support it.

As for downloading a whole map, why not just downlaod a list of explosions with position and strength parametres to recreate the map before entering, during which the game is paused to prevent further explosions midtransfer.

There would of course need to be a vote on wether or not to accept the new player.

@Atlantai Good idea. I ask myself howmany explosions there are in a game....with 10 octet for an explosion and 10'000 explosions it will take 100ko wow!

:| *Raises eyebrow at thus far very unlikely suggestions*

More importantly ():
Assuming the FPS mode makes it into the final product, there has to be some sort of "in-vehicle" Heads Up Display.

Now, this doesn't have to be very complicated; all it really needs to do is tell you which way the body of your vehicle is facing, and which way your turret is facing, relative to the body.
Extra things like distances, extra turret windows, etc, aren't realy essential, but I think the ability to put them in (create a custom GUI for FPS mode) should be available.

Im sketching one for them to try to include, but jorm said a while back that they were just gonna leave it the way it is for now.... u know, get the first release done then make it look fancy.

That pub was a blatant lie. There is for instance Metal Fatigue, an older RTS where you can battle on multiple front: on the ground and underground and in orbit. Off-topic but I hate those adds and reviewers that don't know their stuff.

This is already in..

Neutralize is right. You can see it in action in video12 -- the plane in the lower left is not actually your unit, it is a 3rd person representation of the plane that you are flying in the first person. Did that make sense?

BTW Napalm Cobra I like your suggestion for king of the hill, capture the flag, etc. On the request list...

Ah. Apologies. I am on 56k, and thus cannot download many of the videos. Hopefully I will soon get cable, and get to see the spring videos. I'm about half way through the 80 meg one (couple more days to go)...
