Maybe there should be a subforum for AA. I mean, the AA2.11 thread has over 1000 posts in it now - it would be nice to be able to search/sort the posts/subthreads in there in a sane way. It might also make Cadyr's life easier if each issue had it's own thread.

I wish there was a way to RTFM for Spring itself because it has so many undocumented features it's not funny.

A readme isn't a manual. A readme is a readme. It never contains more than legal info, copyright info and on occasion, install instructions.

How about you actually create a MANUAL for the game then? A PDF, or even a simple *.doc file. It's not hard. You CAN obviously type......

RTFM... and then update it with any undocumented features you know of.

EDIT:

I've been concidering taking what we have on that page and making it more manually and on separate pages... I have the next 2 days off and the only plans I have are to make a new metal map... so that should take like 10 minutes... maybe I'll get around to making a nice illustrated manual.

ROFL!!!
Excellent post!

It's hilarious when mod developers become unhinged! I don't blame them either for that matter.

I have read the readme btw. Long time back, version 1.12 I think.

Vassago: HTML is better than PDF or DOC because it's meant for screen display.

Thus far, I have received 37 emails on the subject.

Vassago does have a point, readme.txt is a waste of hard drive space with most programs, so people don't read them.

So? Read it anyways. I do.

If the readme is the only bit of text that comes with a mod it's obviously the manual (and if it isn't you can still complain about it).

Unfortunetly thats the problem.

Maybe you should leave the readme, copy it and name the other one 'cheats.txt' and include both. I bet more people would read it hehe

That is a brilliant idea.

Put a small header at the top too: "Secret Tips and Informatino about Every Unit."

Just call it:

"neverunderanycircumstancesconsideraboutreadingme.txt"

Or something along those lines, and I'm sure the number of readers will double.
