I beleive I've posted colour wheels in previous genblood mappign threads.....

Maybe the sea is stongly alkaline, like a solution of sodium hydroxide?

more likely than not though it'd be coloured by pollution from the 'land'. could be a myriad of different colours but most likely brown. make it a cool colour - not brown!

I got nothing useful... There's stuff relevent to web design and stuff relevent to interior design but I couldn't find anything I'd consider useful to spring map designing.

Now that you've changed the water i have further comments.

Make it much darker.

And it looks like you've changed your metal texture again from the rusty red metal. For that it seems that now the water comments are totally out of place and ti si ifnact the sky that needed changing to a bluer greener colour.

Its just that it looks like your colours dont 'fit together'.

previously underwater texture looked bad, but now its worse the underwater texture looks good but the metal is GREEN :!: mix this underwaterwater texture with previous metal texture

Also you can see the edge of the map there behind whtie fog.

With a sky and water that colour you can get rid of that completely and make the edge invisible from that shot by changing the far away fog to the same colour as the sky.

OK, take a metal box with a pattern on it. Leave it in salt water for 5 years or so, so it get's rounded corners like your mountains there. Then show me the pattern. You won't be able too- it'll be rusted away at all but the very center of the flat surfaces. My point is, if you want your map to have rounded corners then you need to do more modification to your OTA texture base. You need to get down there with a brush and some randomization filters and add some nice thick chunks of rust allong all the edges, wherever the heightmap changes.

Or, if you just want to use the OTA texture with the "lightly rusted" overlay you have there, you need to sharpen the corners.

One or the other would be a day and night difference to the map.

Looks like I need to find a better metal texture to tile with for this
map. Can someone post a better one for me to use.
Yes, I selected the wrong one .. wasn't thinking and picked the
wrong one ... :(

I just need to redue it over ....

So, if you have a better metal texture post it and I'll use it...

Ok,

Here is the last screenie of the new texture I plan on using. I'll
change it if someone can send me a better metal texture for this
map. So, here is the new screen shot ....
