i think that a more customizable radar system is most certainly of interest to modders, spring is supposed to be moddable, not just pure OTA : P

Yeah, minematt this thread is about:

radar autofire... although I can see the point of the change on the autotargeting fix. Maybe a noradarautofire tag?

i just think it should be generally more customisable, especially sonar, maybe air specific radar etc
a no radar autotargetting tag would definately be a step in the right direction.

I think the generalied ressources would be nice so modders could define what gets extracted from metal patches, how many ressources you have (maybe just one?), what names they should have, etc. The current implementation does not allow me to use the ressource extracted from metal patches to power shields.

KDR_11k, off topic but for that one would need to do a lot of work. As far as your sheilds using metal... that is in the sheild code... a reminder this thread is about:
