Now there are four guys that want AF to go kaboom. Seriously, to whom it may concern, SPEAK UP. Why should he go kaboom?
Also. if you go kaboom, who will lead the cookies in the war against bananadom? Lord_wille may prevail! Do not let the bananas win when youve got this far!

I think it would be bad for a fellow AI developer to go, but i dont get the point of the poll. If its a hobby why should you care in the slightest whether people like what you do?

I've said it before, you shouldn't use others as a motivating factor.
I just need to know I havent written tens of thousands of lines of c++ for nothing.
You've learned C++, that's worth something. Also, I would say 90% of the programmers write their first tens of thousands of lines for nothing.

The more AIs there are, the more competition there is between the AIs, and so the better the AIs are.
This would be even more true if all AIs were Open Source, allowing all the good stuff to be stolen, and increasing the quality of them, as the creators scramble franticly to implement something even better than the previous thing, which is now boosing the opposition.
Which is why I'm a bit annoyed with Krogothe and Submarine.
So, yes, keep developing.

allowing all the good stuff to be stolen
That's exactly why krogothe and submarine keep their source closed.

Yes, I understand why they do it, but it reduces the quality of AIs in general.
And my overall goal is the best AI possible.

It encourages unique architecture. Unique architecture cant be stolen by another AI without it being rewritten at which point its a blatant copy and looses popularity as a result.
If ti werent for the linux side fo spring and the fact NTai si the onyl opensource AI elft, I'd ahe goen clsoed source and started lookin fro programmers and go for all out comeptition

Want him to leave? why do you want someone who is valuable and contributal to the community to leave? And why ask him to post less. at least there is little fight for the nr 1 poster. (Which caused the birth of the off topic section)
But I want the loby more then a better NTAI, considering Alantai is the only one working on a multi-platform lobby (afaik) and there are more AI project going on.
And krog, AI's are not to rival eachother.

To be honest Krogoth waltzing in and recruiting codes for a huge AI push was insulting.

Is cooperation totally out of the question? I mean with everyone working on the same AI, closed source would be redundant? And you could make teh best ai evar11! Either start modding code together, or make a fresh start. Winwin situation imo.
But then again, I don't know what im talking about.

Some of su AI devs are in ti for competition. They have a vested itnerest in seperate AI groups.
That and We have conflicting ideas abotu hwo an AI should work.
Nowadays I ahve amsses of ideas but I dont tell people because fo competition.....

AI's are totally in competition with eachother. That's the whole point, who can get the most out of the least ammount of resources.

i think you should stick at it. certainly don't give up!
didn't KDR 11k say NTAI managed to pwn KAI the other day?

Technically anyone has the right to tell him to leave... no one who has the authority to do anything about it would even consider it though. We mostly like our AF, although his coding needs a bit of professional polish and his postiness is a bit intese at times.

AF, stick with it if you want. It's up to you if you want to continue
on it or not.
The bottom line the choice is up to you. Don't be pressured to quit
just because a few don't like it.
Trust me I know ... I've map some bad maps ... OK a more bad
then good ... but I'm trying to improve my skills. Change takes
time ...
It's up to you now ...
P.S ... I'm still making maps ... but I'm thinking more and
it going to take longer to get a good one done ....

well AF .. genblood is right.
You need to know what you want to like to do. If you think your AI is good continue, if you think it's shitty don't or improve it. I guess you can rate you AI by yourself when playing against it.
Many people like the stuff you do for linux client. So don't worry just do that what you wanna do
PS: If 1 of 1000 appreciates your work it's worth it
