I'll be willing to have another go trying another one, showing other mods sometime soon, that last one took 10GB's of uncompressed video, shrunk down to under 13mb ^^

and steve, you've got your newcaste brown ale version, and another i made with your ugly mug flashing up :p

Err just had an idea, could perhaps use a loading screen from each mod and then follow up with say a minute ot two of footage.

Atm off the top of my head i can think of:

AA
XTA
Nanoblobs
SWTA
EE
Gundam
1944
Battletech?

missed other i know, just off the top of my head :P

Replace '44 with AATA, its not exactly 'playable' at the moment.

Rightyo batman.

Just thinking about the music atm, could end up making just one big video with a couple of tracks, or just one huge one. Or perhaps a couple of smaller videos showing only 2 or 3 mods each.

Does WD still work? I remember having some good games in that, it just suffered from some rather serious balance issues. Really cool models anyways!

Just watched it now.

It's nice, and the nuke bit is really cool. The camera is a bit shakey at times, which makes it difficult to follow. I agree with getting rid of the map names.

Also, I must say, the greyscale bits of the movies are a bit tacky. What exactly are you trying to show with them? That they really had Spring back in the 60's at area 51?

Good luck with the next one!

teh grey bits were originaly going to be for showing an esculating tech 1 battle, tit for tat, but it didnt work out as planned, so the bits i put in i stuck an old film filter thing on. I think it was meant to be old fashioned tech 1 battles, comapred to all the higher firepower stuff (the clips that didnt have greyscale added to them).

sorry :p

I've started making the other one now btw, starting with nanoblobs, it'll be much more coherant than my first attempt but will take a good few days, got some things i need to do.

for the soundtrack, use some popular metal song, Like a rammstein song or somehting.

When movies have a heavy fast paced soundtrack it tends to help them become quite a bit more intense.

Make sure you use a song that is VERY popular though. Old metallica might work as well. ACDC highway to hell would probably work lol

Just trying to plant ideas here, not actually suggesting a song to use.

Oh for gods sake.. don't use metal. Every video on Youtube has some godawful american thrash metal bands music on it. Makes me want to turn the volume off. You should always go for something instrumental that won't distract.

If you were doing another video I'd say some long shots of battles from overhead would be best. Having too many closeups is a bad idea because Spring models are generally pretty ugly.

Ok thrash metal is in a completely different ganre.

Metallica is by definition metal, so is AC DC, as well as rammstein, disturbed, godsmack and a million other bands that I could mention.

Metal is not all about speed drums and weird ass licks on a guitar.

There are countless forms of metal. Thrash, speed and death metal have their own category.

BTW drowning pool's let the bodies hit the floor would be a good song for it as well.

DO NOT USE METAL.

Metal is just... not good for real time strategy games.

We want something epic, something that will really show how HUGE Spring games are. The OTA music was good at this, but that is copywrited, so maybe...

O Fortuna (doesn't get more epic than that)
Mars, bringer of war
Ride of the Valkreys (me liek speeling goud)
Ode to Joy (would be kinda funny, and the good parts are really epic)
In the Hall of the Mountain King (and make it suspensefull... That might not work)

edit: Yes, I know, all of it is copywrited. But the OTA music was from OTA, and we want to break away from OTA and become our own game.

Shcool's Out For Summer - Alice Cooper

Don't know why... or:

Live and Let Die - The Eagles

Also... when I was seeing the "Old Timey" bits at first I thought you were showing old crappy OTA models... maybe you could start with s couple shots from the OTA mod in the classic camera mode, with the oldschool soundtrack playing... then a bunch of peewees rush a com and the huge explosion takes out everything on screen... big ass smoke cloud... do a switcheroo to full color shot of a com... and zoom out to one of those huge... three armies fighting to get into a giant porced base type views and start playing the metal...

Hehe awesome idea, that would be very cool,as for music alice cooper sounds good although FA's ACDC/drowing pool suggestion is rather excellent too
Maybe something from the Jilted generaion too though cabbge ? ^^
