Today, do not even consider a 6600 XX , I have one and it's starting to really cripple on the newer games.

That's not a bad card... but yah, I'd recommend hitting up the lower down levels in the 7xxx gen, it just benches much better and overall is made of better tech.

if you're still stuck on the AGP bus, go with either a 7800GS, 6800GT or GS or look into ATI.

Eh... why not just get the vanilla 6800 and unlock it to near-GT stats. You'll pay half the price. It's the same exact card, just with stuff disabled and a lesser cooling solution.
