I understand where you're coming from. I've had plenty of 2v2 and 3v3 where my teammate(s) just sits in the corner and struggles to build a krogoth. And then complain because the map doesnt have enough metal. Instead of flaming them and driving them away from the community, we should encourage them to try new strategies/watch a few replays.
Or you could host your own games, and play with people who you know are decent players.
Or you could host your own games, and invite people who you know could use some help and help them. Flaming them in the forums isnt going to help their gameplay.
And flaming the map isnt either.

ahh yes the speedmetal discussion.
Why are there still people who still augment so hardly in this "noobmetal" topic?
If you don't like it, just ignore games with the map and simply don't play it.
It's a FUN map.

Relax.

You can get a star playing 100 hours of nanoblobs, and you better belive you're going to be a shitty AA player after that. You don't get to assign people arbitrary player value because of their in game time, they aren't obligated to play AA, let them play whatever they want.

Maps like regular Speedmetal do not doing anything benefitial to the community what so ever period.
It teaches players poor game skills, and offers instant gratification, and it makes you a lazy player.
There is no strategy behind Extreme metal maps like Speedmetal beyond spam the most crap at your enemy asap, or untill the game lags so hard that it DE-SYNCS.
There is no value in speedmetal, you don't have to expand, you don't have to controll territory, you don't have to micromanage beyond build 60 rows of windmills and 200 farks.
Whats worse is that these maps are taking players away from other good games on strategy based maps.
After playing speedmetal, all of your normal low metal game skills get flushed right down the shitter, and re-learning how to play the game as it was meant to be is like teaching a 80 year old grandma how to drive a Porche.
I vote for a ban and removal of all these speedmetal and speedmetal variant maps so players can get back to what this game is about.

Generally speaking people play far too many choke point style maps. It was the same in OTA. Everybody was always playing Great Divide 2.
The best sort of maps are a little smaller, and more open. More strategic options. Wether its metal or not really doesn't bother me.

They are being played and enjoyed. That's all that a game could possibly want. It's not your place to tell others how to play if they aren't asking you.

That includes people who dont hate speedmetal, you know.
Seeing your post being nothing but rancid verbal vomit.
(hint, moron: if 50% of the spring players play speedmetal, that means speedmetal has one thing its good for: providing 50% of the player base)

This I would also agree with. Personally I 've removed the worst porcing and almost all the 'metal' maps (meaning any map with a over the top metal map) from my map folder.
I can no more be arsed to spam Krogoths than I can to sit behind a rediculous choke-point trying to mass enough all-terrain units or nukes to have at them.

I'm arguing with you, not threatening you. If you said something you weren't allowed to say then it would have been edited out. Because I'm a moderator I'm not allowed to argue my opinion?

Thats an idea, the units could be game sprites instead of silly 3d models
and while where at it lets get rid of all the game physics and real weapon trajectories and go with that.
Would you buy a race car and rent out a track just to drive ya race car around the car park.

I do agree there. Most of the maps I see played are made as obvious teamplay/chokepoint maps - and playing 6 players on Crossing 4 is practically a chokepoint map, even if it doesn't actually have that many chokepoints. Ditto playing lots of players on Altored Divide. The fact is that each player has only a small area to defend, and a large hinterland of winds and mexxes. The strategy in that game becomes frustrating - get the comm as far forward as possible, get up some LLTs, then HLTs, then Guardians. Flanking is impossible, so all the comms are upfront. Game ends when someone builds an L2 porcbreaking force that overruns one of the defensive lines and then creams all the opponent players' hinterlands in one massive orgy of destruction.
Oddly enough, I find Hells Pass to be _less_ porky than others because it's usually played 2V2, and each player has so much hinterland to protect from air attacks that, even though the ground combat is a nasty chokepoint game, the air combat is all over the place.
Wanna try something really different? Hovercraft commanders on the Tiny map. Either 4-player FFA, 4 teams, or 2 big teams. Short, sweet, and traumatizingly violent.

Seconding this. I rank choke point maps as low as speed metal on what i'll play. The game will just deteriorate into a competition on who built more HLTs/Guardians/Jammers.
Just isnt fun
