Unpossible, how can you even stand to hear one second of Frans Ferdinand? Revolting..

EDIT: Fizz, isn't everything that comes from japan super-pop shiny-happy? I mean as soon as you see something designed in japan you can recognize its japanese by the superhappiness of it all.

And the flame wars begin!

Heavy metal has so much more energy than other music genres. However, some for example Tenacious D (thought of them because im playin it atm), or Tool or anything more slow but still using guitars is good for studying, or just when your'e in a tired mood.

Pop on the other hand generally has really lame guitars (if they have any at all) an advertises themselves as "hardcore" while theyre just plain lame.

Oh and YOUR MUSICS R SUCK TEH ASS11 CUZ IT TEH FAG0R

nah, heavy rock is nothing more than drugs, sweat and swearing. shouting isn't a form of expression :P. perhaps the energy/drugs is/are necessary to distract them from the fact that they're making so much noise!

I've got tickets for In Flames in august, and Iron Maiden + Trivium in november. WOOHOO!!

I hate les paul guitars. The action is way too high and you really can't play much with them except modern rock and softer. Their sound is very tinny and they are notoriously nois, as well as the fact that you can't properly palm mute with them. They work really nicely for 80's style metal tho.

^^ extreme blanket statement BTW. But I personally hate les paul guitars.

Its not my fav either, however they are proabably the heaviest axe around, so they're good for hitting people with :)
sound tinny? what you plug it into lol, try telling that to slash and the mighty Jimmy page.. tinny they are not!

ps

Mesa boogie > everything

Actually mesa>everything is not exactly true. The woofers are only as good as the cabinet they are put into. If your cab is plywood there is a reason your sound is sucky.

You are wrong ;p the guiter is very tinny sounding. If you put it through a 5 thousand dollar (2500 pounds to you+.2 pounds depending on the current exchange rate) and a $50,000 PA, it's gonna sound good regardless of how shitty your rig is.

My sound in particular is very Fat and heavy. When I play you can hear it in your chest. But meh. Everyone has a different idea of how they like to have their sound.

BTW also I should remind you that what you hear recorded in a studio is those guys playing the same track 5 times for each guitar. Does wonders to beef up the sound of the overall album/song.

yeah I know, the old guitar army trick :)
Ive yet to hear a Les paul that sounds tinny I have to say, but anyway
on a side note, I am prone to the occasional dabble in country music - David Allan Coe being one of my faves, he teamed up with Dimebag (ex pantera- RIP) and they produced a metal/country hybrid which actually kicks major ass!
