I say kill him.
Then at some random point in time no less than 4 weeks from now lift the ban.
And establish a three strikes rule. When you have set rules, it makes explaining why they can never come back much easier.

I think mods should only punish a user where they commited the offense. Like, the only place I was an arse was in the lobby, therefore I should only get a mute. However, if the person is both an arse in the lobby and ingame, then they should get banned. I am always a nice player ingame, so all I really deserve are mutes. Anybody agree?

Criminals don't dictate what crime and justice are in a society for a reason.

makes perfect sense to me.
abuse in moderate quantities (especially after being kicked as a warning) = mute
abuse ingame= learn the noobs and don't play with them...
whilst muted PM abuse = ban
whilst banned use of different IP's etc to circumvent ban = permaban (maybe review it every few months or something)
that's pretty potent, the smackdown NOiZE laid on intimidator tonight (mods! w00!)

Rather then banning him, the SY's should simply steal his soul, and keep him in indentured slavery for a few weeks, then once they tire of his plea's for mercy, release him with his legs sawed off.
If he dose anything again, they cut off his arms. The third offence would be followed with his death by eviceration as we remove his organs one by one while keeping the offender alive for as long as possible.
That'll show him

I had a friend do something like that. Tried to jump some buildings when drunk, missed, and broke both his legs. Needless to say he wasnt very happy about it, when he was sober enough to feel pain again.

We punish by intent. If you show us that you want to make trouble in the comunity or be a dick to other comunity members then you will be removed from the compunity as a whole. For the life of me I can't see why you can't just not post things that will make people react, because you rialed people up with your past actions they will take little things harder. It's being on thin ice per say, once you get to thicker ice again you can jump harder, but right now it's not a good idea.
My experiance with muting people is that they get mad at me when I do it, even if they deserve it, and they usually then try to prevoke me until I don't have much choice but banning them for a while. If you're aknowledging that you have a problem with saying inappropriate things and you're fine with just being muted long term then I'm happy with that as a solution, I don't want to ban players that want to be constructive and have fun playing the game even if they have obsessive compulsive behavioural problems.
Betalord has told me you'll be unbanned from lobby sooner or later, I'd recommend not risking your ability to play to post links to shock humor sites after that point
