Meh, Apparnatly, It has something to do with XP not liking ATYI drivers. But really, its because they are cunts.

this damn tower gives me about 8 bsod's daily.... the mobo is goin out, the processor gives LOTS of errors, and the videocard.... white speckles on the screen get old pretty fast all the time...

and no, its not overheating...

I've just had it on 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, for 7 years LITERALLY.... running and crunching numbers all the time...

its time to replace... I don't care bout vista, I've seen it, and beyond a bunch of fancy smanchy graphics stuff, its not worth a crap, I have a few hacker buddies that all installed the leak allready, YES YOU CAN GET VISTA ILLEGALLY ALREADY, and they are reverting back to XP... they hate it... its the biggest worthless pile of crap to date...

the ONLY reason I'll ever use it, is if software starts to REQUIRE it...

so frankly, the dx10 stuff can blow me, and so can vista... blah

hacking friends? damn you
well, i think that to actually appreciate vista u need a system set up specifically set up for it (guess what i bet that M$ make them and they are very profitable), probably some stupid little difference. and they will say their new PC's are optimized for vista or some crap when its some loophole they used... ;.;
surely the 3D desktop isa bit of a novelty though??? XD

Goddammit I hate you all. Why won't you wait a few months, get a card that's DX10 compatible, and save like a thousand dollars? CMONNNNN... sheesh

Even if I was totally computer-less all I'd do is buy some cheap thing that can get me by. Like, something from the Radeon 9xxx series. Any of them are good enough for moderate performance in modern games, and great performance in Spring.

Whatever. I guess some people have a lot of cash to blow. I've got like $800 in my new-computer-fund now, after putting aside a bit for the past 6 months... I wouldn't just give that up for a temporary fix, I want something dx10 and long-lasting.

The nvidia 7xxx series are already vista complaint, so you could get one of those. If I would have listened to Caydr (And I should have) the 7600 will get you a lot of value for a low price.

well the new 7900 costs around 350€ (the use of 9 nm productions makes it cheaper to produce. in a contrast of the 11nm technology used in the 7800 who costed around 450€ Yes, even I read articles)

afther 10 month. nvidia and ATI released a new serie of graphical cards. making the previous 60% cheaper. Arn't we in the same position now? the nVidia 6xxx serie is now good affordable. as is the ATI X800 serie.
You will always walk behind technology.

Vista can kiss my ass, But blackmainling micrsoft basteds are forcing gamers to get it to play games.

not really if you had used dx 10 and 9 apis you'd realised that they are not black mailing anybody it it along with vista are the best things M$ have done since windows 95, for every one in the tech industry dx10 is so many times superior to dx 9 it rediculous they have done something good for a change their new shader model kicks ass and quite frankly beats ogl 2 waiting for what the arb will do with ogl 2.1 though.

Posted: 19 Apr 2006, 22:11
by Zenka
hoiw about, we wait for ogl 2.1 and don't go with a OS we porbably don't like that much. (mostly, becouse every new windows version is slower and requires higher specs then the previous.)

Yoy do realise, Taht to get DX10 YOU HAVE TO GET VISTA, and SEEING AS EVEN HACKERS WHO HAVE CRACKED VISTA SAY IT SUCKS, THAT MAKES IT CRAPTASTIC!

Posted: 20 Apr 2006, 00:50
by Mugslugs
firstly the hackers do not make games (well they might but thats beside the point). i beta test vista i know that its much better than xp and i know that the apis it has are much better due to my freinds developing apps using them, vista is a more secure, faster and overall better operating system yes the memory fottprnt is bigger but the 2.6 linux kernal has a larger memory footprint than the 2.4 kernal it is needed for progress.
if you wnt to know why m$ wont port dx10 to xp is because dx10 is deeply integrated into vista many kernal changes were made just for it to function properly.

meh, why can't people wait for things to come out, and then make their pronouncements?

Posted: 20 Apr 2006, 19:20
by Drone_Fragger
The point is, I have ot shell out about £1000 To play any new games. Its blackmail practically.

And 3 of my friends beta test vista, Realised it sucks hard and Gone to linuc because the Vista beta ruined there PC so much with the crazy shit taht it does.

They probably got like the beta version of vista though. I had a friend who beta tested Windows XP back in the day, and the funniest thing I remember from it was when a dialog poped up "Windows needs to restart. Do you wish to restart now?" with "yes" and "no" buttons. The friend clicked on the no button, and windows rebooted.

Point is, beta vista is probably shitty, but the release version should be better (even if only slightly. We shall see).

if they went to linux they obviously didnt want an m$ os's advantages such as support for games natively, so there would be no point in vista or xp in that situation, what crazy shit i've been running vista since build 5048 it has only had a few problems they probably didnt set it up right also the point is you won't have to as dx10 code can revert back to dx9 except without the tresure trove of extra feature which wouldnt run on your card anyhow. most people do not upgrade their computer so to get a new gfx card most people will buy a new computer therefore will get vista once it comes out.

Does M$ support games, or do games support M$?

Posted: 21 Apr 2006, 01:06
by Mugslugs
well i'd say a little of both except more to the games support ms side
