Cathralda v0.95 is ready, although not downloadable. It has a totally new typemap (for pathfinding of bots/ai) that works quite well. Tested a couple of times with vehicles and bots. Some moutains are now safer, and only accesable from the less steep sides.
I'll upload it the upcoming week, when althora is finished also (heigtmap is slightly displaced, which makes the textures look funny... Gotta fix that first..

I want to see this map:
http://icexuick.dagdief.nl/ta2/images/art/map2.jpg
Complete with jagged edges on the mountains, and concave rising cliff faces. It just looks like such an alien landscape; I'd love to see those large cliffs ringing off the ground areas where the battles take place.

I also liked that one! As for the big water/earth alike map.. @ 128x128.. when (and IF) the TA:Spring engine can handle it.
I will try to look up the texture and height map of that shot. I'm already affraid i won't find it, made that demo-map quite some time ago...
maybe i can try and rebuild it... In 1,5 weeks time i will have alot of time to get busy with TA:Spring
you'll hear from me when i have some news about this map.

spring can handle maps 34x34 no problem.. however bigger maps will make all shadows inverted... So the maps would still work but look like shit when you got shadows enabled
Note:
34x34 = 17408*17408 pixels

i wish the extractor radius was bigger a la comet catcher remake, so it's easy to upgrade to moho mines

That can be fixed!
anymore people that think the radius needs to be bigger?

Hey, got round to testing the map. It looks good from top down, but I have to admit it looks quite strange when viewing from an angle. Well it is your first map, and definatly good work for that, can´t wait to see your next one (the preview shots look sweet).

Thx for testing and replying!!
what exactly do you mean with looking strange? Is the texture not lining up with the height of it? fog? lighting? shadows?
Let me know so i can work with it.

Cathralda V10 almost ready for release. The most major changes:
- Metal map, more difference between outer en center metal outputs
- typemap (terrain) is much more detailed and lined up with texture
- Heightmap is greatly improved! 50% of heightmap lined up right, but the other 50% was manually changed. (only 5% to do till release)
Still to come:
- features ... (rocks, ruins.. boulders)
Just wanted to say this, so peepz know i AM working on it.

Looks great, However it still doesn't align perfetly, there is one metalpatch which is still @ a slope!
PS i hope you keep using Bryce so we got maps which are rendered with different programs, so they kinda get different feels
