Well Caydr can use it to replace his outdated AA stats pages, Xect vs Mynn can grab the new version for their site, any mod that wants to post build trees/stats pages for its units can use it, you could make a nice site explaning XTA PE with a nice buildtree, there are lots of uses. But as no one seems very interested anymore, ill just let this die.

If no one comments back on this, im going to assume that no one wants it, and I will stop wasting my time making it.

I understand how you feel.

I think you could make it show some of the basic statistics. From what i see, you are very close to that.
Then, HTMLify (it creates htmls linked to each other, right?) the mod that is beeing shiped with TA Spring (XTA_se). Then present it to Fnordia for him to host it on the site. In something like: taspring.clan-sy.com/mods/xta_se
Then, we would have nice stuff to link from the wiki parts dedicated to how to play the game. I think it would be a nice contribution.
After that, you can check again how much interest there is!? You may want to ask, first, fnordia if he is interested.

I know that, i, if it shows the basic statistics of units and weapons, would like pretty much to have access to it online.

I would do that Paulo, but I dont know what stats to put on the pages. If someone that knows how to mod is willing to help me make some good templates with relevant stats, I would be happy to do that for XTA.

So ill ask again. If there are any modders out there either willing to make a template (not the whole thing, just a single page) for this, or is willing to advise me on making on, please say so.

I really don't know what you want, what you mean by a template.
Anyway, i can tell you the minimum stats i think it should show.

Units:
- Hit Point
- Build cost in Metal
- Build cost in Energy
- Build cost in Buildtime
- List of weapons
- Build list (as you already are showing)

Weapons:
- Range
- Damage
- Reload time

Those would be the minimums but, also, most of it, not beeing very lacking with just those as they are the most important for reference.

i like this generator, now only if u could get 1.44 files for AA ;)

ty

Maybe i can even put this on my server if yours has limited bandwith.

No idea what bandwidth my server has, but your welcome to use it on yours if you want. As is Caydr, if he wants to update the stats pages on the AA homepage.

Great stuff. Just hope most mods start beeing hosted online.

After, at least, AA and XTA are hosted somewhere, i think links in the welcoming message in #main would be nice for newbies to go check out.

Hey, I was just told it does weapons now! That's great, wonderful news :D If you haven't done so, you should put something in the community news about this, I bet I'm not the only one who was waiting for it to be able to process weapon files.

(edit: oh, want me to put this on sourceforge for you? Unlimited bandwidth, servers all over the globe...)

Ok, ill post it in the Community News. And yes, it has supported weapons for the last two versions.

You can dump it on source forge if you want, I dont mind. The more publicity the better.

Hey, don't be discouraged just because this isn't getting much attention. Remember that modders are the only ones likely to use it, and there's still only a handful around. This is a really, really useful program you've put together!

Maelstrom, thanks for your great program. If noone else, I'm getting a lot of use out of it. I spent a few hours today and put together a template. Lo and behold, the Absolute Annihilation 1.46 unit guide!

Very nice template. It looks great. Just one little problem, one of the link down the bottom in the unit template links to a 'guides146/' folder, when it should link to the modweb/ folder. Otherwise it look great. Thanks for the publicity.

Edit: Here is a list of every mod that uses this so far:

Xect vs Mynn
Absolute Annihilation
XTA
Alternate buildtree only template

Just post here if your mod uses it and isnt in the list.

Blast! Something had to go wrong! >_>

Umm... where can I get that buildtree-only template file? It's not included.

Two bits of feedback for you. The first one may not apply, but just so you can make sure: please ensure that the output of all the "make_whatever" will be lowercase. For instance, no "units_ARMCOM.html", just "units_armcom.html". Same deal for weapons - I'm pretty sure that right now all weapons come out as uppercase.

Basically what I'm trying to say is, either make it "UNITS_ARMCOM.HTML" or "units_armcom.html", one or the other, because some servers are case-sensitive (such as sourceforge. I had to upload a copy of everything uppercase and a copy of everything lowercase to fix 404's everywhere). All-uppercase would probably be better. Make sure that links are also going to the all-uppercase or all-lowercase pages.

Second one is, weapon pages should ideally have a way to list of all the units that use that weapon. If this is already possible, sorry for being daft.

edit: alright, fixed the bad links at the bottom of unit pages. Also added cross-links between the practical and technical guides.

And there's still some links (like the Spider and Maverick weapons) that use mixed-case.

Ok, ill make all the filenames lowercase. I dont really want to make all the stats printed lowercase though, as that could disrupt some things. You can just add the case='lower' tag to the [STAT] bit if you want things lowercase.

So ill release another version with that, the weapons template (forgot it last time), and the alternate, buildtree only template. (note that the build tree only one doesnt work in Internet Explorer (I think), so if anyone wanted to make an even better version of it?)
