The ability to load multiple maps at once + the ability to define gravity for each map + custom camera, could approximate it, all of which are unlikely to be implemented, and the result of which being problematic

I'm sorry. I am so sorry. I meant to say an ENGINE like the Spring RTS Engine... namely that the way we do maps, deformation and unit location/collision etc. would need to be worked from the ground up to support the imaginary geosphere map I was describing.

Yeah true, not to mention its not a very demanded feature or even a needed one. It would be just a neat thing to have.
