I like it a lot - even though it's more of an adventure game than a rpg imho. Did you play it in its freeware version "
The Ur-Quan Masters"?

Fallout...is indescribable. Great plot, better gameplay and a incredably cool/unexpected villan.
Yeah...awsome game...
But then they turned it into a Diablo clone...ugh!
Another cool as all hell RPG is KOTOR, and KOTOR II (whitch is undeniably the better game)

X-box is superior to ps2, but ps2 is only better than xbox because of its larger gamebase, and wider support.
If xbox was made by someone other than microsoft and ahd as big a fanbase & gamebase as sony did when ps2 was released then xbox would have crushed ps2. But ps2 had an advantage from the start called the playstation. That and some people didnt like the xbox control.
Poor people with xbox 360's that havent realised you can get rid of crashes by hanging your psu off the ground by string

KOTOR 2 had some neat features, like crafting custom items - but the first one was a vastly superior game if you take things like plot and ending into consideration. So many things about KOTOR2 just seemed so damn rushed... I felt betrayed after playing it. Things like broken conversation loops really ruined the KOTOR feeling for me. Just that feeling of... well it felt so real, you know? It was polished to a glow almost, whereas K2 seemed to be needing another 4+ months in development. KOTOR 1 was the better game overall. And I admit, I was hoping for some graphical enhancements in k2, was rather disappointed too by the fact that it was identical/worse. Then you hear about the alternate, brilliant ending that was scrapped for some reason, the areas that were cut from the game entirely, and so on.
I can't decide who I blame - Lucasarts or Obsidian. LA has a really good track record AFAIK. By and large, their games are at least a 8/10 in my book, with such rare disasters as Force Commander and Episode 1 (the game) that they're remembered to this day. Compare that with, for instance, EA, Infogrames, etc. Obsidian, on the other hand, has a lot of known developers etc, but they're as a group untested. I'm really inclined to believe that K2's failure in my eyes was their fault.
Meh, I don't know. Maybe I'm just spoiled. Anyone who knows me knows that I'm a Metroid fanboy, which in turn means I'm used to each game being the same or better quality than the one that preceeded it. I mean, take Metroid Fusion. In a lot of ways, this was a rather odd metroid game. Everything was objective-based, and you were practically held by the hand much of the time. Seems like it was designed as a "gateway" game for people new to the series, to get them addicted! Anyway, despite that flaw, damn if it didn't feel like Metroid. And it was polished, complete, clever in many ways, and it was Metroid. Kotor 2 was not Kotor.
Xbox is superior to PS2 in terms of raw power, but I'd still buy a PS2 over an Xbox.

I actually like K2's plot a lot more then K1's.
Cusae a evil space station seems really dumb. In K2 (whitch i have yet to beat, so dont ruin anything) the plot is a lot darker and more mysterious. Keeps you gussing, see.
Also you start as a Jedi!

You haven't finished it yet? Ah, here we arrive on the reason you still like it. I won't ruin anything for you, but the ending is lame as gimpy leper with no skillz or micro. If I had it all to do again, I would've quit playing once I reached "the last area". (see? no spoiler!)
Racing in Kotor 2 is pointless, you barely make any cash and it's way harder. I much preferred it in the original - You could get like 180 racing bonds, then sell them all to the guy at Yavin, and have enough money to equip your party with some nice rares.
IMHO, KOTOR had much better music too. I'd buy the soundtrack if it was available. Whereas Kotor2, the only thing I found memorable was the music that plays on the autoplay screen ^_^

I never did like racing anyway...
Bad ending? Oh crap!

Superior in terms of raw power. Bah, it's a bad philosophy. Take muchacho cash, put as much hardware in a system, give it internet acces and make it 2 times the size of any console on the market and volia, you get an X-Box.
Not saying raw power is WRONG. Just saying that most of the time it's not makeing the games better. Just prettier.
And yes, PS2 got lotta support thanks to PS1 and the HYPE HYPE HYPE. Gamecube on the other hand failed ( in the american and europe market, not japanese where it outsold the X-box) since 1. Retarded gamers and 2. Gamers that are retards. The pepole who belived the "How can you play so coulorfull games?" or "yea, go play your GAYCUBE lolz"
Gamecube had LOTS of exclusive games witch where, and still are, Fucking awesome. X-box had... phew. Who can name 3 X-box exslusive games
right of the bat EXCEPT halo/halo2?
I can name like 7-9 gamecube games.
Let see: sunshine, SSBM, Mario kart, Pikmin 1/2, metroid 1/2, Zelda, animal crossing, fire emblem...

Caydr wrote:What a flop. Of something like 20 launch titles, 15 are mediocre or worse. And almost all of them have framerate issues because - you guessed it - its hardware sucks.
Actually, the fact that the platform starts with crappy games does not mean anything for the quality of the hardware. It only means that to make a successful commercial start, a new console needs games badly. A lot of games. In this case, game editors don't spend much effort creating something new, they merely adapt (i.e recompile, vaguely optimize) their exisiting catalog to the new platform and that's about it. Hence 15 pieces of crap. Moreover, developers need a good API and tools, and it takes Microsoft some time to develop one. DirectX, for example, took at least 5 versions to be usable (before that, John Carmack had made some assinine comments on this API).
Finally, the architecture of the platform is multicore, so it's quite hard to exploit, because it requires multithreaded programming, or worse, parallel programming, to fully exploit multicore processors. So basically, games today do not exploit their capacity, only the GPU is exploited. and like for previous consoles, I believe it will take another 2 years before one sees games that fully exploit this hardware. This applies as well to the future PS3.

I'm sorry for not bothering to read everything before posting, but that TV bluring thing... only works up to about 30 FPS... 15 is noticeable... and doesn't change the fact that your better off with a computer

I think Project Gotham was an Xbox exclusive as well, right? And, um... that recent one that was supposed to be a Gran Turismo killer or something.... did Xbox have any other exclusives?
I was actually *given* a Gamecube as a present. There is no way in hell I would've actually bought one, it seemed like a piece of crap. I never was much of a fan of Nintendo, TBH.
That changed the moment I laid my hands on a copy of Metroid Prime for 23.99 preowned. I still remember the moment. I remember thinking, holy crap, I do NOT want to get crotched by that chick - she's got 10 inch spikes sticking off her knees! (and I bet in a perfect world she'd get to use them as a melee attack)
If Revolution is just a slightly misshaped Gamecube with the same hardware (which I highly doubt), I'll still buy it for:
Mmmmmmmm......metroid
Super Smash Bros
Zelda
Pikmin
Those four alone (the others you listed, kixxe, I haven't had the pleasure of playing - yet.) make it worth any price. Pikmin is a semi-kiddy game, but you could say the same thing about SSBM. They're just enjoyable by any age group.
Oh, and also, every other decent nintendo-based title ever released being playable for a small fee each sounds pretty reasonable

I'd love to have a copy of Super Metroid I didn't have to play on my computer >_> Um....

The GC rules... Just because Nintendo (and other developers) make games that can be played by any age group it doesn't mean they're bad.
Also, I'd buy the Revolution just to put it in a cabinet and look at it
EDIT: Oh, and for the next SSB game.... If they make one!

Far Cry Instincts - far cry with a new name
Dead or Alive Ultimate - Resident evil 4 kicks its ass
Dead or Alive 3 - Resident Evil 4 kicks its ass
Crimson Skies High Road to Revenge - crimson skies with a new name
Conker Live & Reloaded - overhyped and poopy
Kingdom Under Fire The Crusaders - Don't know what this is
Kingdom Under Fire Heroes - spinoff of the above, I would take it, making it a single license, a single exclusive
