EDIT
and i think if ppl hav time to answer the questions here. it would be better if they put the answer in the wiki and then refer to that!
I have added very little bits to the wiki, but most of the map pages seem to be some ones personal creation, I don't feel comfortable adding my own random observations to them.
Now if there was just one we all worked on...

No I'm planning on a tut. Not a mapconv.
My tut will be completely written before posting tho, Assuming I actually get the time to do it.

noize
suggesting a look at the wiki yes
But refusing help except the wiki is just not a good idea. There is no way a newb is gonna learn how to map from the wiki. There is too much info that is just not there.

I will update, if not finish my tutorial on the wiki tonight if i can. If I cant do it tonight, then next week when school finishes. By the end of my tutorial, you should know how to make a basic map (No skybox/typemap) and, more importantly, a GOOD tutorial on how to compile it.

mael, I personally thing that knowing how to compile correctly is one of the things that scare people off. Hell, I'm not even comfortable with it yet and god knows how many times I've compiled crap in the past few days.
The last week has been a bit of a nightmare :D
keep up the grat work guys, I for one appreciate the hell out of it :D

Hell... even I sometimes muck up when compiling...
Yo Maelstrom, I had an idea... your tut's realy good for people just starting out right? And mines looking like it's gonna be more indepth... so Im thinking maybe we should cross link them once there done. Mine can have a for teh basics, go here, and then yours can have for more info on this bit go here... plus mine will have the skybox, typemap aswell...

Sounds good. I will do some of that, and then we can both link to the compiling bit, as we dont need two of those, and other people can then link to it as well. Ill write a compiling tutorial now, as that wont take to long. I will finish the rest in a few days when school goes out, as I will have some more time then.

I will put in how to add trees and grass, but not features. You can do that, or someone else can and put it in your tutorial if you dont want to.
My compiling tutorial will have EVERYTHING in it, but people can just pick and choose which bits they want to put in and use.
