the mission where you rescue the spiders is super duper easy - your com/6pw and the spiders can immediately move towards each-other, meet in the middle and kill everything in 2 minutes flat

I was a nobody (although I did my maps, 1 of which got a really good review on tamec). And no, normal speed in multi.
I always played normal speed back then. Now, I find that it is mind numbingly boring to play that slow.
You're mixing me up with smoth. He's the one that always played at +10 back in the day.

Good to know, but I haven't played in at least 10 years. I tried that the night before and it didn't work.

moving my com? Noway.. better slow down, and micro the spiders through all dangers.

Gotta agree with this. Maybe one of the reasons there's such a big skill margin in games like SC2 compared to OTA/Spring Games is because of the game speed. Never really took it into account before.
What big skill margin difference? There's a bigger playerbase and therefore the best are much better and worst are much worse than here, but beyond I don't think there's such a thing. SC2 doesn't really emphasize execution speed in a way that'd make it a hard barrier to learning the game.
And just because TA is slower paced than SC or Spring games, doesn't mean you could actually get away with playing slower. Maybe you want a faster paced game and you up the speed, that's ok but doesn't really make the game harder since nobody played near perfectly controlled TA to begin with.

It's real time strategy after all. Not
boulder dash.

Between solo from 15 years ago to multi of today? A big margin, no matter which RTS.
If multiplayer was compared ? TA's more skilled.

I would watch the hell out of somebody posting/commentating high def videos of some of the best demos from OTA multi from different eras. The earliest matches I ever watched of that I'd call competitive TA were games with Gnugs and SYs, but watching them play vs watching (for example) picardoh play...its practically a different game. Both awesome, but radically different.
TA was --plenty-- fast on normal speed in competitive multi, and watching people who were really good was breathtaking in a way that even pro SC2 has never really been for me.
This is really fun forb, thanks for posting. Makes me want to hunt down my discs >_>

Your commentary style reminds me of NintendoCapriSun, although quite a bit more badass and quite a bit less pathetic and sad.
You do a good job of having emotion in your voice and giving a impression of caring about what you're doing.
