i do have an interesting pic although i cant put it here, but it shows that for instance on comet catcher its really dark close, but if i put a camera like total war and look far it gets some light at the end of the map.
hope this gives you another clue to whats going wrong with it.[/code]

if i put a camera like total war or so i can see that although very close to me its as dark as some of the above pictures show at the end of the map it gets brighter.
Sorry about these two posts i got confused with this and thought the first one hadnt been posted.

Well, I dont have this exact problem, but ever now and then my map will just be all black then go away. Kinda like a flicker. It does it every 5-10+ mins. Really random. Not sure what causes it because it just goes away like nothing happened. Weird stuff.

Spring hasn`t worked for me since I installed the latest build, last week even a complete re install does nothing to fix it, so thats it for me, I give up on it.

Skyboxes are the source of this. It's been reported to the TA:S team by yous truly already, so let's hope they fix it next build... Well, more accurately skyboxes are what cause it to occur on a map-specific basis.
Thanks

Hi There,
Thanks for finding and reporting this - it's a real pain! So does anybody know if we're likely to get a fix for this in the next release (0.68b1 presumably?), and when that's likely to appear?
Cheers

The problem is fixed, as you can read in the other black map thread:
http://spring.clan-sy.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?t=2971
There will be a official release when I've fixed another small thing... quite soon (a few days hopefully)
In the mean time, you can use this exe:

Thanks Zaphod - I didn't realise there was another such thread, sorry (I don't read the forums much these days).
Cheers
