Debian specifically DO require included software to be commercially available.
Yes ofc they do. I meant to say "deny" instead of "permit".

Mr Bob and pyra have transferred all licenses to me.
Petah, I dont like git, and i think github also only allows open source.
The model source files will also get uploaded into the /etc/artwork folder.
Thank you so much for the modinfo, PM sent.

Beherith:
- Github has an SVN backend layer, you don't need a git client to use github, tortoiseSVN will work too
- You can have an svn repo sync automatically with a git repo, just look at the Wordpress repo on github, it's never more than 10 minutes out of sync with their Core SVN repo
- The only precondition to licensing github invokes, is that the source is readable since the free repositories are open/public, but ofcourse this does not apply to private repositories. I know many people who use Github for commercial private activities and do not use the front facing public parts
If using svn with github still doesn't float your boat, drop me a PM and I'll set up SVN on my server for you

Thanks AF, but we already have a working svn/trac set up for BA, I just moved BA into a branch of that.

Beherith wrote:The BAR art content is now under CC BY NC ND 3.0 license. Please ask me if you wish to use any content in the mod.
Also, I'm moving the project off googlecode as they only allow CC BY SA licenses for content. Stay tuned for more

Behe, they allow custom licensing. You can use whatever license you want with google code.

Is this project still progressing?

Yes

, (almost) every day.
I'm currently not sure where Beherith is the last few days, project leader for all intents and purposes, but I personally (among a few others) am still busy making new models. Apart from that lots of people work on and develop many different aspects of the project.

Is all the stuff hosted exclusively on Behe's home PC? Maybe it should be hosted on a more open platform to reduce the risk of the "bus factor" then.

The problem with that is it's not very friendly I can't tell what is for BA and what is for BAR.
Looks like it gets a fair amount of spam on it as well.
Man I wish you guys used github so much more use friendly.

Personally I prefer git and github, but it's not that hard to track what's new in BAR:
http://imolarpg.dyndns.org/trac/balates ... anches/BAR
Besides, there's no reason any developer should give timely reports to mere users. You aren't paying and dev time is usually best spent actually deving :)
BA(R) probably lacks developers (as most Spring projects do, save for perhaps ZK), so one can't really demand that from them.

Behe was working on
fixing that
Looks like it gets a fair amount of spam on it as well.
I strongly believe that was a direct result of me linking to the page
I agree with gajop about the limits of this small community.
(I think that also answers the "bus factor". Project to small, and some peoples role to big, to consider that.)
But even so, I see a finish line for BAR, and last time I checked Behe saw it too

. It would surprise me if (some form of) completion wasn't reached before the end of the year. I plan to be done with my share long before.

Same, working on my share a little bit every week depending on how busy I am with work or feeling like working on some other things (nice to keep everything fresh). Really I'm not far away at all. BA:R is going to be the bee's cheese.

http://imolarpg.dyndns.org/trac/balatest/ responds fine for me - is that what you were looking for? (Maybe it was just temporarily down earlier.)
