Fun repeating yourself isn't it?

Don't say ban all autohosts when you don't mean it. At least in XTA we need the autohosts.

In fact, you people should pay for the fact that someone provides free bandwidth. May I suggest the following pricing:
1 hour: 2 pence (or 6 hrs in prison)
2 hrs: 3 pence (or 10 hrs in prison)
6 hrs: 5 pence (or 15 hrs in prison)
24 hrs: 10 pence (or 24 hrs in prison)
2 days: 15 pence (or 36 hrs in prison)
1 week: 30 pence (or 3 days in prison)
1 month: 60 pence (or 1 week in prison)

Remember the good old times when there where no autohosts.
Almost every map was played. When a host got bored he/she simply tried another new map.

Now almost always the same maps are passing by.

You can say XTA ''needs autohosts", but you can play it without too.
Imagine how spring would be without autohosts.
Imagine a beatifull new world and you are on the right track ;)

a first step would be to just ban single map autohosts, and only allow automatic random map autohosts (people would still be able to votemap dsd every time but if they do this that's their choice), but even this won't be done you know, it's been asked for years ... just play starcraft 2 like most old spring players

Are you sure the culprit are the autohosts? It's not more difficult to change maps on an autohost than a manual one or relay one (okay, citation needed on that one, but I feel that way).

Or is the problem that there are so many people playing on ba autohosts so that a consensus never arises on another map than DSD (I guess that's the problem, given that spring somewhat humorously warns when I try to download that map that I make the game worse).

Suggestion: instead of removing the autohosts, make a spads or springie setting which prevents the possibility of playing the same map twice. Problem solved.

XTA people can't play without autohosts, because they like to spec. So if someone is forced to host manually they'd have to sit right there in front of the computer all the time, and no-one wants to do that, so no-one hosts manually.

And who said that only noobs don't know how to set up NAT? It's not always NAT that's the problem, and I know that many of us, including at least Babbles, couldn't host when we had a no-autohost period after the spring upgrade.

Ban this map, too many players play it and that it is causing players to leave!

Ban all the autohosts so people are forced to play on maps I deem worthy!

Ban all the *A mods so my obscure and ill designed game can get the attention it deserves!

Ban all the trolls expressing opinions I do not agree with so people can finally see the truth of my words!

Ban all the thieves stealing my precious cubes and cylinders so they have to rely upon me, thank me and swoon only for me!

Ban logic for it makes my incoherent rage and badly worded fallacies look bad!

Pink goggles for everyone, emperor is not naked, you will confess or drown!

Ah, naked emperors, its a rare fetish, finally i find someone who shares it. Wanna trade Pictures? I have a naughty picture of napoleon and some twisted stuff with Alexander the Great. Everything from Ramses forward is hot, but dont come and try to post crappy wannabes like Hitler. Has anybody posted the W40K Emperor Fanfiction allready. Its not necrophilia, if he isnt completely dead.

Almost every popular map was played. If you want to play something else people cried because downloading >30 megs was too much to ask and back then they had to go to unknown files to get your map!
jj wrote:When a host got bored he/she simply tried another new map.
or left and no one could play that game because they could not figure out hosting.
jj wrote:Now almost always the same maps are passing by.
Like when all people wanted to play was speed metal or absolute divide?
jj wrote:You can say XTA ''needs autohosts", but you can play it without too.
Sure you can.
jj wrote:Imagine how spring would be without autohosts.
only the ta games would be played because the smaller games with newer players won't have anyone that knows how to host in spring.
jj wrote:Imagine a beatifull new world and you are on the right track ;)
Imagine everyone only playing the TA projects and no planetwars or smaller projects having any chance..

no I think your push is entirely misguided.

still his anger is rightous.

He is like a barman, who stored thousands of diffrent drinks. And every evening the same crowd comes, asking for that cheapest of beers, because they made a competition of who can stand it the longest.

Look at behes map. Look at those mountains. Look at them.
The sky is the limit, but we never climbed out of that evolution soup pool that is dsd and its grandfather speedmetall.

If i was new, and joined. I wouldnt stay, even for pay, on this flat vomitcoloured rag, shoving lowpoly units around.

well, lets get to the least piece we could agree upon. lets enforce http://springfiles.com/spring/spring-ma ... -deluxe-v3
this map to replace dsd. Its the freaking doorsign of the springcomunity, and right now it tells "under-the-bridge.Nr5. Mr & Ms. Tramp".
That rug tied the room together for the longest time.
