Alrighty, i'll work on both a heavy AA Kbot for Arm and Core, i'll both give them different flavors in design and in their weapons so they are distinct.

My idea for Arm: equipted with 2 heavy AA EMG guns, very fast firing and very deadly, can't attack land targets :?:
Core: equipted with dual AA missile launchers, they will have larger range than Arm AA EMG's and larger splash damage but they will be slower firing.

I believe in this way they will have the distinct Arm and Core signatures of Arm's Fast and Furious and Core's slow but powerful.

I think that not being able to attack land would go against the rest of XTA, because anything can (try to) attack anything in XTA.

Makes sense... I'd like to see the core AA as something you would be proud to include in a full scale sumo rush. Expencive, beefy, but not insanely over effective (core units have tonnes of armor, they can afford to sit around while thier AA slowly drops brawlies 1 by 1, AOE would help them handle swarms)

Whereas the arm AA shouldn't last too long, but do damage fast, to keep ninja style units safe right until it's too late to do anything about them.

I like your ideas a lot, GrOuNd_ZeRo, though I have to agree to Lindir that not being able to attack ground units is not XTA-style. But if it's almostuseless against ground units, that'd be fine with me.

I'm really looking forward to getting my hands on these units :-)

I, too, miss alot an advanced AA k-bot because of all the reasons presented.
Still, i prefer the way it is now. I prefer not to have all possible solutions in all paths we take.

Also, i too don't like units that have weapons that can't fire to ground units.
If you really want to go that path, i can propose that you make, instead, the weapon beeing able to fire to ground (in theory) but making it unable to rotate the «cannons» enough to make it usefull in most situations (beeing still able to fire at ground units that are, for example, climbing a hill). I hate artificial restrictions...

K-bots are the only unit type with out an AA unit. It seems kind of stupid not to have one.

not really...a infantry man with a RPG is unlikely to shoot down a F-117...(this is 'old times' example but this is what TAs balance is based upon, infantry (mechs) tanks (vehicles) planes (although they are VTOL)

Comparing infantry to kbots is kind of streching anyways... Kbots can have any weapons mount that a tank can have, they are absolutly massive in size.

When I think of a level 2 antiair kbot the Raven instantly comes to mind (both the appearance and the way it fires its missiles in waves). Although it appears that the Raven cannot attack air units.

Well, IMO the Raven is a true MLRS Kbot and nothing more.

I could make a cheap new AA unit based on the Raven's design, but I already designed a unit that kinda looks like a PeeWee with 2 cannons on each arm.

which is more original and fits in with the other TA units.

Although a Raven with Cannon arms would look cool...

I think that was forced to be that way in recent updates to the XTA mod.

I like the pewee esque type wiggy. Now just make the doublecannons flack, and have them be shoulder mounted and fire shells off everytime they fire, and have a sound effect and smoke effect like a WWII flack cannon and we are in bussnes!

EDIT: Any one else think that the Raven's missles should split into five smaller missles? That would be cool. They should split at the apex of there flight, just to confuse any antimisslem type things anyone might make up. Although i'm pretty sure tha Raven's missles are dumbfire, as they go off in random directions. Once a raven missle ended up behind the Raven that had fired it :roll:. Dumb clones.

It looks unbalanced... I would attach the guns closer to the hips. That AA peewee looks like it would fall over backwards if it shot at things infront of it.

Or it could have a brace leg that comes out the back, so you can set them up like somekind of a bizzare flack useing sige tank...
