Dvorak has never shown proof of being any better than QWERTY. Only different.
The typist you cite, is one guy. Also, no relevance. Teach your mom to use both, then run a test. Now that is a true test that actually manages to matter.

Somebody who has just learned typing will not notice any difference. People like the guy from KaiserJ's post will notice.
For me QWERTY (Z actually) is alright, I do not know anything else.
Though I often thought that it would be nice there was a return key (for line breaks) under the space bar. Or capslock could be a third return key?
omg genius.

Finally got it today. It's really really really nice. The texture of the keys definitely takes getting used to, because it doesn't feel like smooth plastic. Instead it's very grippy.
The led is fucking excellent. My pictures suck, but first was taken in the dark with no flash, second one in the dark with flash.
On off button for led is in the top right of the KB, nice and convenient, and 10key pad is right that and strangely accessible.
I definitely give this kb a thumbs up.
Edit: The picture doesn't look like it, but the led light is constant all over the kb. No spots seem to be brighter than others.

Same here. I used numpad for allegiance as well because the ships control is somewhat similar to descent.

Btw kids, just a quibble. They are not "Mechanical Keyboards". The proper term is "Buckling Spring".

Eh? Only IBMs and some Asian clones use the "Buckling Spring" mechanism and incidentally they also have a membrane underneath like rubber domes. Mechanical keyboards have many different types of switching mechanisms.

These mechanical keyboards are insanely expensive, I mean why order from china where people are exploited when it still costs 100$ ?
Even a cherry g80 something keyboard costs at least 50Ôé¼
Old keyboards with piss stains on it cost 100$ on ebay too

Razer BlackWidow regular is on sale for around $60 all the time, iOne Scorpius retails around $60. There are quite a few boards you can get in China that you can't get here.

60$ is pretty good but the shipping will cost a little + I will have to pay 19% taxes.
