@wombat, in BA weapons cannot fire through friendlies. Actually, more accurately, units can not fire through friendlies nor can they aim through friendlies or features. This is directly opposite the behavior in OTA.

Yes but SA has very little in common with OTA other than it's the same models and music.

HA is the closest, BOTA is the runner up, and the others are nothing like OTA. If you want to play OTA, go play OTA.

Thanks for the feedback everyone,

I'll be doing most of the suggested :) I'm currently playing OTA with my wife on LAN. I'll try BA and XTA and the other two HA and the other one i can't remember without review the thread.

The reason i'm looking for OTA type stuff is because i like the music and sounds. Alot of sounds could be improved on in OTA so i look forward to trying the other games. I also like OTA for the way everything works. I've played it on and off since it was released and have always felt you can succeed with any deployment of ground/air/water units or mixture there of.

I like all aspects of the different units and defence structures and the time wasting aspects also (like currency). I feel its great fun to have so many ways to throw the enemy off balance... eg knock out their power plants or focus other particular structures.

On the being able to fire through anything in OTA i found that some things cant...the annihilator tends to line of sight kill some structures. The flakker anti air cannon seems to take out your big berthas and annihilators or radar towers if you put them too close...that can lead to catastrphic problems when your big bertha or annihilator goes off....

Again thanks for the feedback.

And I recommend Zero-K which is also evolved from OTA gameplay but has become quite different in many ways. http://www.zero-k.info
