Oo....is it worth paying for?I mean is it at all good?
I tried the beta a bit and the game seemed confused to me.
There is absolutely nothing to relate to since all your chars are just muppets and there are no other characters with whom you interact..
At least in diablo you could relate to your char and it wasnt just a weird looking vegtable like piece of goo on legs..

Well there is a lot of customization and you play coop the game is pretty fun. Not a MUST buy for me though. Online only, hack and slash grindan for parts(which is very diablo) and when I played the open beta there were some really cool monsters, the was a boss fight that was very fun. And some gorgeous levels but the level count seems slim. On second thought 100 characters with abilities interests me greatly.

I'm still confused - isn't the whole thing of the Spore engine the ability to create characters from play-dough? Why have a fixed roster of characters instead of letting the player design whatever dream he can come up with?

It's because there is pvp/coop. So they needed so amount of character that people could tell. That being said customization is huge and very powerful that aspect alone would have me playing this days on end corsair and I gave penises to our guys and even sufficiently gayed them up.

So no customization is still very strong and you can somewhat alter your base dude.

Custmization sux...you get goo with hands and feet and you can add antlers and spikes...thats about it...You can't make a creature with 4 legs if he only had 2 or the other way around..it sux...

You get a premade creature and you add beautification...

Again because these are CHARACTERS like diablo or and other rpg style game.

Yep and it sux.

I greatly enjoyed the co-op gameplay in the beta... so I think I'll really like the full game :)

Yeah you can add a few accessories and make them look like a dick...I LOVE DARKSPORE..

actually that particular accessory gives me enhanced chance to find items. I just did the penis thing for fun. you know that 3 letter word other people have but you don't have.


There is no smoth, only zuul

Like any other game of this genre, there is a lot of item play but what makes it different is that we can change the way the items look and how they are shaped on our guys. Did you like diablo? ok you'll like this. Do you think diablo had a deeper story.. ha ha ha you called it a story.

anyway, there are stats something that as usual you could google but are too lazy to do the real reading.

I like this, if only for the awesome spore creature gen not getting lost on spore alone...wish they made it os

I enjoy diablo when i have an ache for grind and it delivers a solid one...
Diablo has a "classic" story....you fight to save the world of the devil...
It had great, well written cutscenes...
It had easy to relate to characters that had voices etc etc...

This is just playing with goo...
The only redeeming aspect of this game, and deep down you know its true, is its coop and multiplayer play...

Gota, are you playing Darkspore?

I haven't played Diablo... but I don't think the story is non-existant in Darkspore...

Anyways... if anyone wants to go kill something in co-op, I'm playing as Zydox and are currently at 9-2
