it would be epic if we could get that (minimap without joining battle), the only thing i fear is that it would make cheating even easier than it is now.

for the host to send a mini-map, it had to run the full simulation as well, which means for autohosts for example, to move from spring-dedicated to spring-headless, which means like 1000 times the CPU load. an alternative would be, to have a spectator client that does this, only for games that someone is interested in.

Hi,

I started to do something about mini maps and replay. I saw once a dotwar replay on youtube and I thought it could be fun to have it on a mobile device.

I use a widget which should be run by a spec, this is recording the game in a structure that I am not yet satisfied but it's ok. I just wanted people to be able to go forward and backward while watching the game.

framerate is low but should be ok for mobile device, and work with HTML 5
