I just updated the screenshots with the latest version, I increased the height of the mountains and widened the pass which is now nearly three times as wide, and made a new terrain type map to account for the wider pass, thanks for the ideas everyone

If I get time will upload it tonight.

Absolutely gorgeous. I'd say this is one of the best maps available for Spring thus far.
It combines an Old TA Classic, with excellent and pre-concieved gameplay, with a visually fantastic, and highly realistic map design.
*two thumbs up*

Not to be nit-picking or anything, but a dead straight mountain range that has a strangley uniform FLAT pass through it is hardly natural. But it looks absolutley great, and, if the aformentioned mountain range WAS naturaly possible, thats exactly how I would expect it to look. Nice work!

Maelstrom, it looks like a natural mountain range that has had a a pass dug out of it
Or perhaps a meandering river cut its way through the range. A river of ACID.

actually that would be a cool alternative version for the map... make it a river goind from left-> right (deep enough to allow heavy ships to pass.
Spring has far to few good naval maps...

Yes, it should be wider though for that, perhaps one that's a small flat area for starting positions on a map thats just too rougth to navigate, with lots of small bays and rivers winding through, making it pretty much sea ro air only.

looks good!
The pass was so smallish strange played map.
Will test it asap.
I would like to recall that old map just like it was, not bc i feel nostalgia about it, but bc i really want to feel how does Spring open your possibilities, and nothing better than a straigth comparition. Thus, could you provide aswell a direct port? (or kinda, something that is more like the original).

I'm doing the same with Ror Shock (4 Big islands and 1 small island with commander statue on it) I'm rendering 4 8192x8192 textures with terragen but that other app
