I linked Cat 10.7b OGL ES 2 to ATi FAQ section.

It fixes most of the ATi related OGL problems, at least worths a try 8)

Use Pixelbuffer objects works fine with em, OTOH Dynamic clouds and High-res clouds at the same time makes game crash /infolog.txt/

ATi got messed up OGL driver very often, however ATis market share is growing. After Fermi G100 fiasco ATi conquered a lot with their HD5xxx line up. 3/4 of year without direct competition means VERY LONG time period. So the attention for ATi is needed :D

I don't use any cloud options or special water options, in fact my graphics settings are very basic.

I updated to catalyst 10.7 from an old version that was working fine before latest spring update - didn't work

I then downgraded to catalyst 10.4 - didn't work

I then tried messing with all my settings (water, cloud, etc) - didn't work

Does anyone know any real fixes for this thing

Running springsettings from SL and directly are two different things. I'm running springsettings directly after i have noticed this behaviour. So, you may tweaked the wrong config file.

Funny thing, official Cat 10.7 WHQL doesnt fix your problems. So make sure you use Cat 10.7 Beta OpenGL ES 2.

Using a Driver Cleaner or some similar utility is strongly recommended, when downgrading to another Cat version.
