superb model... we could use that for the Damned :P I could even texture it if you don't feel like texturing.

hmm.. i did not know they have feet like that.. always though of them as sticks, slightly flattened/enlarged in the end, and hairy.
though, they seem a bit more like a hook then like a cone, which makes sense, if they try to hold on to something, eg. tiny holes in the bark of a tree or whatever.

... how the heck does he grab the piece of grass with these?

I saw a documentary, that each leg had very tiny fur sticks over 10000 per cm2 of skin (dont recall correctly but was something like this), so in a basic sence, its due to atrition that they hold on to things sutch as trees e.t.c...

Hm well perhaps if i make the cones more round to resemble a hook
it can be more insectoid :)
Masse: im trying sculptris today to atempt texturing it

Update

Ok after screwing my head around these two models, i decided to try both zbrush and sculptris, sculptris doesnt handle hard edges so forget about it, but zbrush is an epic program you can uvmap these things easily and then bake the details in photoshop.

problem is things look fine in zbrush but they dont when you export them :S

Import to wings, fix uvs export import fix export and finaly it looks somewhat X_X, so at least in upspring stuff looks average.

This thing is badass. I would murder to own one at one day, no matter how much metal it costs.

lol I got zbrush too, could never work out how to texture with it though, it's good for making really high poly models

That uv map is a mess and it's impossible to texture something on it :) I love the model but you should look into uv mapping. Just try it with wings, the same program you modeled it in.

Ok since its going to take time to improve the uvmap, texturing process i decided to give a go at texturing some old units i had done a while ago.

FIX:pics removed waiting update

The word 'shabby' came into my head when I looked at your textures, I've never really used that word before but it just seemed right here

Let a pro do the texturing of the epic model >_>

I prefer the first model. The new one looks too busy as far as geometry is concerned. The legs look weaker and ungainly compared to the first one. Also I liked the spikes, they make sense for AT while the current round feet make it look like it would have trouble getting a grip anywhere.

That is a mobile tachyon annihilator... Looking good, just needs a proper texture... maybe grap cremuss tachyon texture and wrap it?

Maybe he will consider that if you pay the wage of the pro

that would be nice since i did it before,

but id like to make something of my own unique, texture wise, ofc i would never release it if it wasnt good or show it for that matter, but at least i could say i made it

i can take time doing the texture work i guess :|

If you release that under a libre licence, and the textured version looks good, I'm sure it would find a home somewhere! (EvoRTS and ZeroK spring to mind - if neither, bob and I had a "Juggernaut" concept on the backburner for Engines of War... :P).

Edit: plus see Masse's post - he'd already called dibs on it :D.

From what I can tell, Scifi is texturing this because he wants to learn how to make epic textures for his epic models, and not depend on somebody else or to kitbash other peoples' textures. I think that's a good thing to do. :-)
