I hope to spend some time with this in the next few days to get you a good resource layout.
You couldn't wait or just PM Nemo?
Thanks anyway.

Whahahahaiiitt!! What??! What happened here? Lemme guess: some forumers pissed you off?? Tell us at least their names so we can prepare a pyre!!
Awww come on Sir, dont punish us all because of some idiots

You just got into my personal top3-mappers-list...
if i were making maps for this community, i would react same - no matter how good map u make, how detailed it is etc. etc. etc, ppl gonna play same, 'old' maps anyway (dsd, tab, ssb, i think next most popular is titan and folsomv3 recently

)
what i mean, is that making maps for this community is a total waste of time, or more like a lottery - u will see 1 map out of 10 again
(but i dunno if thats the reason why sir made this decision)

Hello folks,
Thanks for all the cheer ups. I appreciate it.
You seem to wonder what the reason for my retirement is and I'll give you some ideas because there is no simple, one answer.
Wombat is on the right track. However, my decision to retire is also pretty much for personal reasons. My rl, studies and relationships suffers and im wasting a lot of hours basically for nothing - no pay no gain but rather just ignorance. It's just part of my personality that once I start doing something I can't stop. I've been doing some art, landscape painting for some time and I face the very same problem. But at least I gain something concrete from it and may sometimes get paid...
And a lot I mean that honestly over 100 workhours(sometimes 247) for folsomdamdeluxe. For some that may seem a lot, but think about one guy called smoth working on over a year for a map that seems to be now forgotten by this community. I totally understood why he felt sad and pissed off. Sad was also that he got pissed off to me also :)
I've felt this long time, so it's not particularly recent happenings.
Enjoy the map and tell me if there's bugs! I will still be around sometimes and I'll try to update it if necessary...
Edit: And yes, If there is something wrong or you would have liked it other way. Please feel free and do not hesitate to fix it or change it! Thats the whole point of all this open source ffs... The license allows it as long as you fullfill the terms...

If you wish your mapping to have more an impact on the community, it's easy: simply PrntScrn whatever is on your screen now, compile it as a Spring map (no need to bother with heighmap, metal, features, and all that crap), then name it after a troll: You'll have half the forum praising your genius for the years and years to come.

It's just not enough players to give every new map a lot of play, but I do think that the best concepts mostly stay played. Talus, Throne, Eye of Horus, Titanduel, Nuclear Winter, etc. etc. "newer" maps are played regularly even if you can't expect them to totally replace old favorites. But the hard truth is that the hours spent, or the mapper personally loving the concept, doesn't guarantee that the public will love it - but it's like that in all things, not just Spring mapping.
In any case, thanks for all the maps, and good luck in whatever art you decide to do!
But in other news... A sneak peak of my next map

The simple fact is, maps in spring are very generalized, whereas usually a single game will have a very specific set of maps.
For example, in the lobby I can't just tell it to pick a random map for me.
This is one of the many reasons that a lot of us (evo, gundam, s44, IW, etc) have made game specific maps.

Fantastic map. Reminds me of Sudden Strike series, it's colouring and style.
