I understand what you mean, and in most cases i would agree.
I could guess its cause some programs might create large files while running, and this would be a problem if the flashdrive is almost full.
So to avoid that they make a general rule for their portableapps, to save files in a directory outside the flashdrive.
But then again, im just guessing, you would probably get a better awnser if browser their homepage for abit.

spring and the lobbies being too stupid to keep their settings to themselfs makes having multiple installs of spring painfull.
this is also why gameinstallers are so fail at this point of time.

I only noticed this problem with SpringDownloader. Then I haven't run SpringLobby in a while.

this time i decided to install the mod-automove thing while updating.
i knew it would be a mistake, it saves to e:\my documents\games\spring or something like this and i have never set that folder anywhere
