Spring RTS Engine

I will admit that my moderation responsibilities have forced me to suspend my work for a few of the offerings on the engine.

So if someone starts greifing S44 games (the few we manage to keep ticking over), we have to sit back and wait till a moderator deals with it, instead of dealing with it ourselves.

(obviously s44 is a bad example because of neddie)

I am mod developer, please give me the keys to drive the lobby car.

I second this. I expect my moderator powers because I make Evolution RTS, host springinfo, host a file mirror, host the only UF mirror in existence, host mods and maps, and I also host official spring installer mirror.

Funny, I'd nominate Nemo or Zsinj for moderator in a heartbeat...

A lot of famous content creators do have a bad social rep as far as the community goes, but that's not due to their being devs. Conflict of interest is rare, and another moderator can take over when it occurs anyway.

Listen, I am the xta dev, I earn it by default, I will even moderate games by banning all those who host Balanced Annihilation, DSD and Speedmetal.

Each of them can kick people if they don't like his work/gameplay. Of course no moderator should do that.

Exactly, the line you draw is way too arbitrary. I can even push it further than Meltrax and suggest only people who never heard of Spring should be devs. That's pure impartiality.

Does Senna count as a mod dev or is he just a map dev? Make modmaps and if you don't count you can stay as mod.

All complaints should go to whoever is one responsible for the server.
This person has the final authority over moderation.
If something is wrong he is the one that says the final word.

He IS responsible for moderation if he is the server admin.

Edit:
If Licho has the practical power of making moderators or taking moderation privileges he is the one responsible.

Wrong. He is responsible for keeping the server running, not for moral decisions.

You are saying that someone should not be a moderator because they are hosting the site. But the "should" is not what's reality. As long as he has the ability to moderate, he's a moderator. I'm just being technical on the definition (just like others were before me). He can choose not to exercise that power, but he has that power. Just like any moderator who chooses not to do anything.
