...and whats wrong with the Spring logo? IMO its good looking already... doesnt need any pause symbols since theres already pause text.

The logo didn't had a dimension which is a power of 2 (lead to artifacts on ATI hardware)

Really?? Hm, I already was surprised that no one complained about it... dunno. I definitely saw erros around the glowing crown on a ATI card of a friend.
Anyway using textures that have not a dimension of two is bad AFAIK. I had the same drawing errors back when I did the Defense Range buttons.
Maybe some ATI cards/drivers nowadays are able to handle this as Nvidia does.

Yeah, use POT for all graphical elements. ATi experience will vary, depending on chipset / drivers.

can you finally fix this pause button? like when i hold pause down, it keeps pausing/unpausing, its fucking annoying when i try to watch some replay in fast forward mode and then it suddenly starts lagging so much i cant set the game speed normal until the game is already over.

for me it does, and has always done that.

Well, dunno, but for me it doesnt. So you imply this happens for you only when you got this widget enabled? Disable it and try again pls.
I dont remember a single line of code which manipulates the pause state, so would be quite surprising if it was related to this widget.

i'm a fan of this widget; it seems that a lot of people rage about it being centred on the screen; and i can understand the complaint, it makes setting orders when you're paused a bit more difficult. (i dont care personally, but im not everyone)

how about something that makes it justify to the lower right of the screen or something like that? that way people can set orders to their hearts content...

just a suggestion, and for me, i like it just fine the way it is.

yeah it annoys me too, but luckily you can make it more transparent by clicking it.... what about spinning the pause image to the right middle and stay there? like rotate to 90 degrees, would look awesome.

like first it would be:

PAUSE

then a moment later it rotates to:

P
A
U
S
E

to the right side of your screen... you could still see it, but it wont annoy as much.

Is it still a problem after left-clicking it? It turns transparent and will leave mouse clicks through afterwards (so you can click as it wasnt there). Maybe just a problem like Trademark said that people dont know they can click it?

I would surely like to improve it when I know whats the best way to do it. Many people dont like the sliding either (fading would be the alternative way). Dunno, maybe I should start a poll or something since I think its mostly a matter of personal taste.

EDIT:
To the clicking problem: A mate suggested to have the widget remember its transparency state. So when you clicked it once you will have it transparent for the rest of the game or something. Would that help?

yeah do it like rest of the game then.

but you need to add info "click to make it transparent" or something, so you dont need to find it out by luck... at first i thought it goes transparent after some period of time, or when my mouse is on it enough long, but it wasnt that, it was the click :D
