meh i just make everyone bring their real accounts in to my games anyway. autohosts balance is what get fucked by smurfs

Simple way to reduce smurfing would be to force spectator for rank 1 smurfs on key autohosts.

That would do more damage to true newbies than it would reduce smurfing.

Autohost balance is key for fun big games.
Make smurfing an offense(this very moment) than when people mostly use their own accounts implement storage of internal statistical info about players that cannot be accessed and will be used by autohosts to improve autobalance.

So what you want is lobbies to access Springie's elo stats so human hosts can use the balance button based on that instead of rank.

I don't think making the ranking public is a good idea,
Unless you consider springie setup as a ladder atm?

How about preventing players from building certain tech level 2 units until they are rank 4 or something. A mild discouragement for smurfing as your options are limited a little. And stops the noob tech to krog/nuke syndrome - force them to learn flash spam before they can play with the big units.
Of course a good player smurfing with only t1 units would still be rather unbalancing.

This could actually work out in some cases when you think of it! Lots of modern games allow unlockables as you progress in rank. It would be a great incentive to not get banned.
