Bladewings are almost the cheapest and almost fastest built unit. Yet, they usually decide the game.

If one of the enemy player is spamming bladewings, it makes any raids without AA pretty much useless and AA moves so darn slow raids are pointless anyway.

I'm still for decreasing their speed. Just anything to make them not so effective considering they're so cheap. Cheap units aren't meant to decide the game.

Yeh by forcing the enemy team to spend all their metal on AA instead of fighting units :<

"all their metal" are you on crack? Bladewings are made of paper.

So? They still need AA to be shot down.

Enemy also needs to spend a lot of metal making an airplant, nanos and bladewings

complaining about t1 air being oped is kinda silly in BA.

It's not that they are op, it's that they are so effective but are so cheap. It's the fact that if an enemy team makes them, any raids you make will be giving them metal and doing no damage at all unless you bring AA with and frankly, all the ground AA is expensive and slow.

This is about DSD 5v5. In any smaller game, you couldn't afford to have one player start air unless he was going in for a commrush - the loss of a teammate's worth of flashtanks would be catastrophic. Of course, the obvious answer eludes you: why aren't you building them too? You're angry because you're fighting a diversified force while you're using single-unit-spam? Why don't you use your own bladewings? Why don't you have a few fighters to pick off bladewings?

If you tried to rush bladewings in a 2v2 or 3v3, I guarantee your team would get their asses kicked.

Unless we're talking about a second factory for a single player. And at that point, the raiding game is almost over.

No, we're talking 4vs4+ here tbh...

I like to variate my faction choice and when I'm core I go for bladewings every now and then and usually they don't really cost my economy anything at all, yet, now and then, we win the game because of them.

When I'm Arm, the only real counter is mass samson spam or fighters which in turn get pwned by enemy AA because you can't micro them like blades. Also, fighters cost more and can hurt your economy.

Jethro is too expensive to be used to fight them off and if you do spam Jethro, you'll probably find your land crap gets pwned by land instead...

Just, something to make Bladewings less effective. Just anything to nerf them. Make them more expensive, slow their speed, weaken their EMP rate or even make land AA cheaper.

It seems to only way to counter Blades is to use up a load of metal on AA. And because Blades are so cheap, they usually pay back the amount of metal spent on the lab to make them...

/rant.

So you're complaining that the only way to counter an air unit is to use anti-air?

So, I find that when you're getting attacked with air, the best solution is to build anti-air. IMO.

For equal investment, fighters typically win vs bladewings.

AA costs more than blades. Waaay more.

I... cannot argue that fact since frankly I don't know anymore how BA has changed relative to AA.

But it's safe to say, I hope, fighters still work nicely against bladewings and protect you from more than just the menacing effects of paralyzer beams.

Given TA was - and I'm guessing BA is - a strategic game, why should any unit need "micro"'ing? I'd call that a design flaw and buggy unit.
