I think some model creators overeact and just use that for, well, "look angry". Saying "no" is often the only power some peoples have.
Why i say that ? Well, i often see peoples using, without asking permission, works from others crying when others do the same thing with them. I play and even mod since, what, around 20 years now and i'm sometimes sick of alls that.
A mod is just a mod. I, for my part, don't go nuts when someone take some part of one of my free work for another mod.
Sure, i can hit really hard if someone use one of my work, free or not, for a paying work, an advertisement, etc., but i never sued someone for taking one of my BASIC coding, or one of the third party units i done, twelve years ago for Dark Reign and put it in a mod.
I just ask for a good place in the credits, even kick the modder ass if he don't do it in the first place, but i never asked for removal.
It's not philosophy, it's childish.
Sorry for being long, but i think i don't really like the "don't even LOOK at my work" i see in a lot of 3th party for some games more and more often since 10 years.
When i read theses words, in this forum, in the Civfanatics one, in the TAUniverse one, or in a "readme" file from a unit, i found myself a really old thing, from a time when we talked less, or not at all, of "free software" and don't needed this GPL nonsense for share, freely, our littles BASIC or C games.
It's not a good feeling looking in my glass and thinking i'm really an old man.

I don't recall TRO or I (Wotan) giving you permission to use any TA:Escalation units (or recall you kindly asking us to do so). We are still developing TA:ESC and have yet to release an official release for TA or Spring. As such, we should have the right to use our own units (the ones made specifically by us) until we release an official product.
Please remove any TA:ESC units (i.e. Vindicator, etc) as we are still working on our mod and would like to retain our units until we are finished.
Sincerely,
The TA:ESC crew

My philosophy, that was understood as "childish", is to respect the rights and opinions of others, is to mantain good levels of colaboration in a community, as cited in examples that not were "childish", and the stuff NOT is the more important part here, but the care with the others.
Also, IMHO, "A mod is just a mod" dont realize that a mod is a personnal view of a thing, and not a book of phrases (in our language an unitpack) and needs dialog to be something more.
If Lemni would contact me , the answer would be the same for that units: NOT!

But
only because they were ripped from the first beta, and I could contribute with better versions of my work and check it about the
possibility of
integrate it or not, because several modifications Ive done not are compatible with this mod and are made exclusively to work in harmony with other units of my mod.

The main issue is to respect the unique properties of
current / ongoing mods. If we had abandoned TA:ESC ages ago that would be one thing, but we're still very active and in the process of of putting out our first official release. We'd really like the opportunity to perfect our stuff and let the community appreciate our efforts in doing so

I have found you have added the Orion (ARMBFB), a unit made by unit makers involved with ESC and others from TAU, the version you have added tho is from the Total Mayhem mod - the unit pic is plainly the one used in this mod.
http://mayhem.tauniverse.com/totalm.htm
Please remove this immediately from your mod.
Also given that you never asked permission to use it, and LIED about asking permission, I request that you also remove all other units made by Mayhem Inc
http://mayhem.tauniverse.com/units.shtml
That includes the Drake (ARMDRAKE), Azue (ARMMEGA), Shocker (renamed Vanguard in your mod, unitname ARMSHOCK), Goblin (CORGOB), Howie (CORHOWIE) - thats what I found in a quick search through your files.
Considering the dozens of units you have taken from ESC without permission, and from Mayhem also, it's going to take some time for you to remove them all. I would think it would be best to take this version down, make it unavailable, and release your next version with these units removed when you have it ready.
As Snooky said, the main issue is units that are in someone else's mod that is still under development.
But I also have an issue with your dishonesty as well. Poor form.

This is the reason why using models from UU is not a good idea

UU makes it damned easy to find the original creators of the units, since they have it in the unit listing. from there a quick tour of TAU and/or Google will *usually* give you a way to contact the initial designer. If you
really cannot get in contact with the creator, make special note of it, and ask the creators to contact you in private (email/pm/whatever) so you get to avoid threads like this one.

I wasn't flaming, I simply made 3 requests:
1. Remove Mayhem's units (especially the one from the Total Mayhem mod),
2. Remove your current version from being available for download (which I see you haven't done yet),
3. Be truthful about getting permission.
That's all.

I can request the removal from the hosting sites but they won't react quickly. Lemmi, it would be nice if you took it down from jobjol and the mirrors yourself.

I don't wanna know how many of you guys illegally dl music and movies and other stuff, without asking permisson from the creators/artists...
Well I've nothing against credits, because the creators deserve it, but some of you take this too far.
I really don't know, how Lemmi obtained the models of a mod not yet released without the modellers knowledge, but thats another issue.
Well have fun complaining.
In my opinion the mod has a lot of potential, especially, because it got more than tier3 which is interesting if you just play BA or sth like it.

Umm, you do know that your shellshocker/vanguard has been included in every single major Spring mod since Caydr plonked it into AA, right?
I mean, of course you say where it goes... but if you're picky about that one, you've got a lot more messages to send.
