That sounds like it's damaging to her vocal chords. It's unhealthy for singers to bear down on their vocal chords like that. I don't like how it muddles the singer's voice either.

I don't like the AUH AUH sound either. It reminds me of the onomatopoeia of an ape. The lyre can do a better job of making sounds than that:

It can mimic a camera shudders, car alarms, fire alarms, dogs, and chain saws.

Almost forgot, speaking of In Flames, The Jester's Dance is an awesome instrumental as well.

Her vocals aren't that bad, at least she doesn't scream like whats-her-face from In This Moment. I don't like that too much.

Not a big fan of killswitch, mainly cause I don't care for their singer, but they did a great job on this.

@snipa just because that band was garbage doesn't make disturbed better.

feedback will free your mind and set you free.

while there are some bands that dont "need" no or almost no vocals (earth, red red sparrows, karma to burn) i think thrash metal should be "brutal party music" and thats just cooler with lyrics you can sing along with...?
Sadly thrash is mostly dead noadays, or so far underground that it'd take a drilling rig to find them.
germany ftw.

Could you supply a reasonable reason for disliking disturbed so much? Do you really hate them that much or are you just that hard headed? Just because he barks isn't a decent reason for hating them this much.

what a silly thing to say

he's probably exaggerating a bit, but it's really hard to put objective things on what you like which is inherently subjective

I hate most rap, but I can name a lot of reasons why. No instruments, pathetic singing, terrible lyrics, terrible live performances, it's all about being a gangsta and it's got a pathetic view on life and all about treating women like objects. So far, smoth has only said that the worst thing about disturbed is their barking during songs, and it's only in about half of them, maybe a little more than that, but not in large quantities. Their worst song (not worst as in I don't like, it's decent up to the point) is Down with the Sickness, because of the crappy ending.

maybe barking during songs is so annoying it's enough of a reason on its own?

also not even close to all rap is as you described it well done

Rap is about flow and beat.

I told you a long time ago that you buy into the pop you kids call metal. All generations do it.

Okay, let me rephrase that, I hate the rap I am forced to listen to by retards I am subjected to being around. When I said "its all about being a gangsta," I meant the songs. Every time i hear rap its more or less the same theme I've heard every time I hear rap, to just about the same beat as well. They don't even sing with the crap I hear here, its more like talking.

Really, that's all you've got to say? I buy into the "pop" that the kids call metal? Well, tell me what metal is, I'd appreciate your lecture... Also, while you're at it, tell me why all the kids play rap all of the time, instead of this amazing "pop"ular band disturbed. I don't know when the last time I heard disturbed being played in a parking lot over a decent stereo system was, or the last time I heard someone playing it on their cellphone. Maybe, it was just a passing fad for people to listen to disturbed... And maybe people like me genuinely love metal, I'm not sure.

Let me see here, what does youtube say...

Disturbed's video with the highest views is Disturbed's fade to black metallica cover at 1.8 million views, also their oldest video.

Britney spears Womanizer has 50 MILLION views despite being only 2 months old.

Chris Brown - With You - 83 million views

Fall Out Boy - Thnks fr th Mmrs - 32.5 million views

Linkin Park - Bleed It Out - 8.5 million views

Blink 182 - All The Small Things - 18 million views

Saliva - Click Click Boom - 2.8 million views

The Offspring - Pretty Fly (For A White Guy) - 7.2 million views

Sum 41 - Fat Lip - 11.2 million views

Soulja boy - Crank that - 44 million views (spongebob version has 55 million)

50 Cent AYO Technology feat Justin Timberlake MUSIC VIDEO - 35 million views

2Pac - Dear Mama - 15 million views

Yeah, real popular compared to these guys...

Maybe the barking is retarded. Have you tried any of their songs without the barking? Probably not, I wouldn't be surprised. For a guy who listens to all that slow shit, you really are pretty abrasive when you could have just said "Disturbed isn't my style, the barking ruins it." I wouldn't even have bothered if you would have said that.

Yeah, not ALL rap is about women and materialistic goods. Tombom, maybe you like these guys, uh, immortal technique, yeah, they don't sing about women and sex, I think... hur hur, awesome lyrics...
[Talking]
Immortal Technique
Revolutionary Volume 2
Yeah, broadcasting live from Harlem, New York
Let the truth be known..

[Verse 1]
You better watch what the fuck flies outta ya mouth
Or I'ma hijack a plane and fly it into your house
Burn your apartment with your family tied to the couch
And slit your throat, so when you scream, only blood comes out
I doubt that there could ever be...a more wicked MC
'Cuz AIDs infested child molesters aren't sicker than me
I see the world for what it is, beyond the white and the black
The way the government downplays historical facts
'Cuz the United States sponsored the rise of the 3rd Reich
Just like the CIA trained terrorists to the fight
Build bombs and sneak box cutters onto a flight
...
Edit: Oh yeah, those sell-outs, linkin park, added to the list.

Linkin park has never been a serious underground threat. They've always been about as mainstream as it gets. They are emo to the point of painfulness, and their writing is done by virgin 12 year old boys in black eyeliner. The brilliance of Linkin Park is simply their mixing. Even going up into the professional ranks, there are very very few song's let alone artists, who have mixing a fraction as good as the mixing in linkin park's average work is.

They make fruity loops look like a crack symphony orchestra.

Yeah, their mixing is phenomenal. The change in the way they played and made music was enough to make me just about hate them. They used to be tolerable, but the new cd is terrible.

Speaking of music and stuff, hardcore dancing is the funniest/stupidest thing you'll ever see. Basically people flailing limbs around and accidently hitting people... Also found a hip hop video, which is probably the worst hit of them all.

Girl gets owned by a guy who looks like a human tornado.

Guy gets kicked in face

I lol'd but felt really bad afterwards, this is pretty bad.
