This would be a funny thing to joke about if Warcraft 3 didn't already exist, but it does and it's been done

You know, thinking it over, as long as Square was kept the hell away from the game design and it was made as a pure RTS, an FF7 (or even better, FF6)-themed RTS would be really rather cool.

To me atleast the fact that square enix goes to rts games is very weird. Have they ever made anything else than the jrpg's (final fantasy) ?

the closest theyve venture are the tactics series of Final Fantasy games

Ogre/Final Fantasy Tactics/front mission (mecha rpg tbs) which are fun TBS RPG games as far as that not rilly (as far as i know)
