Depends on the players and their tastes (You needed to be told...)

A smaller version hurts nobody, there is never a reason not to make something for which there is demand or requirement.

A matter of taste is not the same as a matter of performance; with a decent computer running a seven series card this size of map is fine given appropriate settings. People can't simply expect to play an advanced game on a machine built for Starcraft.

There is nothing wrong with a smaller version. But there are lots of flavours out there, we should learn to respect them for their own mystique.
