I'm happy to give you quite a few reasons why I prefer XTA. But before I get started I want to ask you the reversed question you asked me: Why do you play OTA ? And I want honest opinions, 'its what I'm used to' (the stats of units are deeply imprinted on my mind) doesn´t count :) .
I do know who´s playing it , ' but I must admit i'm interested in [] WHY!!!????!!!??? '
Anyway on to the reasons I love XTA:
For me most of the units now feel the way they should be for me:
The artillery is actually used as artillery !
[warning ramble alert]: I don´t know how you guys got your TA CD, but I got the commander pack, a few years after it was released. So there I was poring over the strategy guide, which described all the units and how they should be used... and in the game it was completly different!
So,
Sure some things need getting used to: Moho Mines using 300 Energy, Goliaths actually rocking, not having to build a level 1 plant if you want a level 2....
But when you are used to it, it doesn´t hurt! It doesn´t make for worse gameplay!
And there are so many things changed to the good: I have hundreds of units to choose from same as in OTA. However now I actually have to think about which one´s I'm going to build, because they aren´t almost all useless.
And now I´d like to hear why you play OTA :)
