Umm, in OTA and almost every other TA mod, dgunning another comm ensures the death of your own because of the massive comm-death-explosion.
Which would be a particularly bad idea if you had the enemy on the run and at the brink of death.

CA has absolutely zero relevance to a video about TA from the TA campaign. FFS, the comms only became Dgun immune in CA like 3 months ago.

1. That video is from OTA, not Spring.
2. Spring is a game engine, not a game. You can't dgun a comm in FF, E&E, Gundam, Eternal Struggle, EvolutionRTS, Spring 1944, you name it.

It has absolutely nothing to do with spring! It's a video of the TA Campaign ending. Spring is not TA, no spring mod is TA, supcom is not TA. In TA it's a bad idea to Dgun another comm, it's completely and utterly irrelevant of how good or bad an idea it is in any other game ever, because in TA it's a bad idea, and that video is ONLY relevant to TA.
It's not a fan video or something... that's the actual video that played at the end of the game.

Oh, gameplay...when I dgunned the ED player's flash rush in e2160 it gave me a strategic advantage which let me build mexes all over the map.

that deffo is a can but i think the size proportions are a bit off looks huge (sumo sized) but that could be because its in a bad camera angle

It's the ingame proportions that are a bit adjusted to fit in the footprints while in the cinematics they can just scale it to whatever looks best. Imagine if they would make a cinematic showing a battleship and a tank, the battleship could easily be made much larger in the cinematics then the downscaled version you see ingame for practical reasons.
I noticed there is actually a second The Can in the movie, in the center at a longer distance so it's also hard to be sure especially with the crappy video quality, but the movement is definitely can-like.
