ther acutaly trying to do something so the words population won't half in the next 10 years. I now some people don't care about dieing but what about the people that dont want to do die? moving on... if the ice caps did melt and the sea level didnt rises \it is because all the access water evaporated and you now what that means? FLOODS AND MASSIVE AMOUNTS OF WATER (that can kill people.) and then on, if we still use a fuel that is leathal to the enviroment it will kill the trees meaning no oxegin, meaning no breathing, meaning death. basicaly what im saying on the post, if we dont do something where all screwd.

Anyway regardless of wether the global warming and the greenhouse emissions are actually a valid theory, we should still take notice, putting greenhouse effects aside, there are other disadvantages to our emissions, such as acidification of water, research says by 2030 the water in the pacific ocean will be classified as toxic waste according to the US regulations due to its acidity. Never mind the drive for recycling and energy efficiency which aside from saving money helps with other problems that have nothing to do with the temperature of the planet.

I heard that some people believe that a absurd amount of mirrors between the earth and the sun would solve the global heating problem... :)

The fuel we use its not lethal to the enviroement (assuming that we dont throw it at it, what wouldnt make sense) its just that its burning increases the amount of Co2 on the atmosfere, what increases the global heat level. And if I remember well like 70% of all oxigen or more is produced by plancton and other sea life, and not by trees.

I like the Climat Catastrophy, that frees us addicts from oil. Also that much climatic change and CO² may allow Dinosaurplants to return, that survived in some corners of the Earth... as long as there was enough carbon in the lifecylces, live developed for size not for intelligence - so this may be the return of the Homo Mechakingkongis

And imagine all the other halfhearted catastrophys before climate - now it is to save the world, not just some islands, some towns.. the world- we will mess it up to the Max. What is it flying up there, is it a plane, is it a bird, are it the 9-11-Cosplayers? No matter what shoot it down to save fuel, spare us Co²- for a good cause - ups - sorry Superman...

Yes, south pole melt would certainly be devastating, but the south pole isn't melting at anywhere near the rate of the north pole, and the earth hasn't currently warmed even to the height of warming that has been recorded in the past, let alone the length. Previous to the last major ice age, large parts of canada were rain forest jungle. We're not even close to that point yet.

I'm not saying that. But I am saying that as far as I understand, global sea rise isn't as big a threat as many make it out to be. There are a plethora of other serious threats caused by the current warming trend. The reality is, it's scary that some decent chunk of the warming we see today, for the first time in recorded history, can't be explained by any of the prediction methods we have available. That might not be the end of the world, but it's definitely bad.

Me, i just prefer David Brins Theory on Global Warming out of the "Earth"novell - summed up. It is way to late, we can´t stop it, even if we try, so the only way is to go faster ahead, right into the storm, do it the japanes way, caring as much as possible about the enviroment while embracing HiTech as fast as we can. So if there is something you can do - buy a new car, one that is hybrid, and good at it.. (and has the upgrade option to full lithiumbatterydriven later on)

Then there are those crabs from scandinavia that're travelling south and taking over the north sea etc, emperor crabs or some other name of that style IIRC.

And indeed, msot people forget the pengiuns in south africa, or how theyre able to survive in zoos around the world despite sunny warm days and a lack of Antarctic conditions
