Not an Osbourne, but that's a good guess... let's say that it was a certain American company's bid to become like Apple, with a stylish computer.
It somewhat backfired when the 286 became available. The company found itself unable to make the technological leap, and they ended up building fairly crappy derivative IBM clones until it finally left the PC market in the 90s, due to poor product design and a bad reputation.
Even though this has to be one of the ugliest PCs ever built, I still have warm memories of playing vector-graphics games on one of these...
