How is it nazi to want to have people of similar experience level in your game?
Its harmfull for spring I fear, we already have a small comunity, if people dont let noobs play the comunity wont grow :(
Newbies can play, but it's more fun for everyone if all players of a game are of similar skill level. I'll force-spec a newbie in a game with stars, because his participating will decrease the total fun had by all.

Then he will spect until he is a star, thus becoming a noob star! :)

Really spectating does help but actual playing experience is needed too.

+1 this is what I do (though I check for smurfs and let them play if they are actually someone with skill).

Easy for you, power-abusing mod-boy.
Seriously, man. The "nubstar" issue's been around since the beginning. It's not going to get cured until we have a server keep track of games won and lost by players
We have an integrated ladder, it just sucks. We'd play all our CA games on it if not for the fact it has the most ludicrous fixed settings.

settings are fixed if you fix them when you make the ladder ... if you want an "overall ca ladder" with no fixed settings just ask an admin to make it

btw in the next version of spring you'll see the best ladder players like this :

ingame time is the thing which makes your rank. i dont want to see star players which havent played single game.
