Awful. Dumb, primitive quasi-warlords-quasi-RPG... thing.
How the hell in a bucket are we not topping these lists? Our PR must be terrible, or it must be the OTA thing, those are the only answers i can see.
Spring is the best RTS ive ever played. One of the best
games ive ever played, period.
We. Need. Better. PR.

No, publicly promote spring. The *A mods aren't really relevant.

Yes, the Wiki discourages promoting Spring because of its unfinished state. That and the TA content, see "Spreading Spring", that really should be removed.

Anybody who wants to discuss promoting Spring and games for Spring, you can work with me through a number of avenues. I'm still committed to the Community Promotion Initiative.

Well, just think about it, the vast majority of our mods are derivative of TA, with such increadible highlights as "Balanced Annihilation" "Tired Annihilation" and "Complete Annihilation", the former two of which just make no sense, and the latter which wreaks the flow from the origional name with a spinoff word. Then we have names like "Star Wars Spring" and "Spring 1944" with their immense creativity spinning off with the Spring title, which is marginal at best. Oh, and there's "Simbase" "Fibre" and "Evolution", who wants to play some SimCity on a quilt with Darwin?
Just as an average, there are very few mod names in spring that are just like "F***-YA!"

I'm open to suggestions - we haven't done that much marketing and our next dev cycle is going to be fairly long, so feel free to come up with a suitably "**** YEAH@!" name.

Hey, I don't acctually care much, crappy names are fine IMO, I doubt we lose virtually any users over the untrendiness of "Spring" and it's mods. I'm just pointing out the fact. Swiftspear is also a terrible title, I just use it because it's what I chose 8 years ago and it would only be effort to change it now.

My mod had a nice name:) the only thing that was nice about it...
Mods should symbolise what they are about...
Anyway ,mod names are unimportant...spring is what represents all of them anyway.
Everyone thinks spring is ta 3d....we need a name change to something that says "many different awsome war games in one package" .

I think of spring almost as a platform or springboard that I can leap into any game I want, or at least that is what I see in it's future. So spring has always felt "right" to me.
the reason people come in looking for TA is that most sites describe spring as such. Although i was surprise to see an article about gundam on a blog:

OH WOW.
I just downloaded and tried to play 'freeorion' in their 'honourable mentions' category.
Ok. Firstly it has no AI. The AI's just wander aimlessly and never build colonies or anything else- its a singleplayer game man! You need AI's!
Secondly there was a bug in the current version that meant that if you create a colony it VERY QUICKLY STARVES TO DEATH.
What the hell is this. Spring is more polished and stable than some professional games. And some sites still call SPRING unfinished! Its all just advertising, and we need more of it out there.

Most sites simply copy the first pages of the official website.
TA Spring is a project aiming to create a new RTS. The current goal is to make it run content from the game Total Annihilation.
That doesn't sound very finished to me.
