Just wait until SWS gets something playable out.
SWS is good, but the textures still suffer from a sort of uniform grey muddiness at a distance. You never even get to see any of that superb attention to detail.

Actually the contrast looks pretty good at play distance. Then again, Gundam got it right too.

every one is claiming all the glory for s3o, but i have to come across a good uv unwrapper that has ease in use for OBJ's. im not impressed with wings and my regular modeling program exports objs that give upsring a heart attack... but im still trying to find a quick easy way to make decent uvs

The answer is simple. Add racing stripes to all OTA units. This will exempt them from IP laws and also make them faster.

i think it will be beneficial if they are all under one of the forms of CC license. This way moders could use it without contacting people who are not there but would have to put artists names in the readme or the title screens of their mod.
