Surely you can see that getting rolled over in 10 minutes is just a frustrating as rolling over everyone in 10 minutes?
but the ones being rolled over dont have to wait for 2 hours to get a game

because hot girls are hot and fun partys are fun and playing spring 5 hours /day is a bit lulz? most the good players are BA vets, but the top XTA players arent that far behind either. only certain awesome people understand how big your e-peen becomes when you can hit over 1 command/sec

set the environment variable SDL_MOUSE_RELATIVE to 0
(recently figured out by Bashar :-))

flop wrote:why? im just seeing peoples ideas on the topic, its always seemed wierd to me the low skill level in spring and the fact that we only have 3 or so top notch players in the entire community; day, andy, and heze.
If u want to have top players against u : go to play a "top" RTS like starcraft, suprem commander or warcraft 3 ... in these RTS there are about 100k ppl in the world and some tournament all around the world.

Spring is a fun RTS for those who only want to spend good time.
Most of the ppl didnt play since 10 years 10 hours per day like u ... so u understand difference.

Play with those u mentionned earlier : heze, day and andy ... and let all others play together great sympathetics battles :D

Wow, thanks. And thank you, Bashar. I'll get to playing soon, then. Not that that will really change the sentiment that caused this thread.

why dont you guys just quit playing DSD and play ladder 1v1s instead

by Boirunner
if you play DSD and are frontline at the bottom it's like playing 1on1.

No it isn't.

well it's a lot closer to playing 1on1 than if you are the air guy

by Machiosabre
yeah 1v1s are even worse, oooow
seriously though who cares? theres a reason team games are played almost exclusively and its because shut up.

In a 6v6 DSD no matter where you play you have to only control a small fraction of the battlefield, with little expansion even available. Try playing DSD 1v1 and see the difference.

playing DSD or a map of similar size and complexity 1on1 is (to me) so complex that it seems more like work than fun. From a certain number of metal spots per player, CPM and multi-tasking ability get more and more important, while they are almost irrelevant on a 6v6 DSD.

that's the reason why nobody plays 1on1, btw, just in case someone really doesn't know.

We have few really good players and around 20-30 good ones. Top spring players are definatly good "rts players". Those who can make 100+ apm should be able to be top in any rts. For example, I think randy was even on uk team for starcraf(if I remember corectly)?

Of course we all suq compare to koreans... but koreans aren't humans, so they don't count.

Some play for competition, some play for entertainment. Personally i'm content being "average".

Top notch by who's opinion? By definition, Spring is not a game. It is an engine. Indeed, there are multiple games within said engine. So really, those are three top-notch players in the game known as BA, yes.

What about other games? Com Shooter? Expand and Exterminate? S44? Simbase? NOTA, CA, etc.?
You use a mac too, dont you
