Yeah, we have had quite a large discussion about this previously.

I agree that giving the player that much potential control over the game is a bad thing, and that the amount of lua available for a game should be in the hands of the modder, not the player. Or, at the very least, the modder provides the lua options, and the player selects what he wants from those.

While there are plenty of helpful lua gadgets, there is the potential there for gameplay-breaking lua gadgets, particularly with mods that are offering a particular game or balancing approach.
